Chrono Portal

Chrono Portal is a Fabric 1.20.1 addon for Mentalitys | MR Portal. It replaces the default MR-Portal teleport execution with a Chrono-style delayed teleport session, movement locking, and refined visual effects.

Status

  • Teleport timing respects base MR-Portal config settings.

Requirements

Installation

  1. Install MR-Portal base jar.
  2. Install Chrono Portal jar.
  3. Put both in the mods/ folder.
  4. Note: Chrono Portal cannot be used without MR-Portal.

Features

  • Phased Teleportation: Distinct Wind-up, Activation, and Fade phases.
  • Movement Lock: Players are anchored to their start position during the teleport wind-up to ensure visual consistency.
  • Dynamic Timing: Automatically synchronizes with MR-Portal's portalOpenDelay and quickFavoritePortalDelayTicks settings.
  • Player Aura: A structured particle aura (rings and vertical spiral) that follows the teleporting player.
  • Refined Audio: Custom sound triggers for start and activation moments.

Known Visual Limitations

  • Source Rift Placement: The source teleport rift currently appears directly in front of the player (centered on the body/camera path). This is intended for the 1.2.0 release and will be refined in future updates.

What MR-Portal still owns

  • Waypoint ownership and GUI validation.
  • Same-dimension rules.
  • Item/staff/scroll detection and consumption.
  • Ender pearl payment and staff cooldowns.

Usage

  • Use MR-Portal normally.
  • Create/select waypoint in MR-Portal GUI or use the Quick Favorite keybind.
  • Chrono takes over the teleport execution, locking movement until the dimension shift occurs.
