Core idea
Every player on the server gets one permanent, randomly-assigned effect (like a permanent "perk") that sticks with them at all times — it doesn't disappear on logout, but it can be lost or weakened through death or bad luck in PvP.
Commands (op / smp.admin permission) /smp start — rolls a random effect (level I) for every player currently online, and turns on event mode: anyone who joins the server from now on will also automatically get a random effect one second after joining. /smp stop — turns off that auto-assign mode (new joiners stop getting an effect; anyone who already has one keeps it). /smp effect <player> — shows what effect and level a given player has. /smp reset <player> — completely removes someone's effect. Full Tab-completion support — subcommands and online player names. Effect pool (editable in config.yml)
Speed, Strength, Haste, Resistance, Weaving, Dolphin's Grace, Hero of the Village.
Craft: Effect Upgrader
1x player head + 4x diamond block + 4x golden apple (X-shape on the crafting table). Using it (right-click) raises your effect to level II (the max).
Craft: Effect Reroll
1x netherite ingot + 4x diamond block + 4x gold block (also X-shape). Using it rerolls you a completely new random effect from the pool and resets the level back to I.
Getting player heads
Killing another player in PvP drops their head (the crafting ingredient above) — it goes into the killer's inventory, or drops on the ground if their inventory is full.
Death mechanics Any death (from anything) lowers your effect's level by 1 (minimum level I — a normal death never removes the effect entirely). If you lost a level, a ready-made Upgrader item drops at your death spot — anyone can pick it up and use it right away. Totem of Undying — if you survive death thanks to a totem, you lose your effect entirely (that's the risk/tradeoff for the "second chance"). After respawning, your effect (at its current, correct level) gets reapplied automatically — because Minecraft clears potion effects on death by default, and the plugin corrects for that. Potions (brewing stand)
Normal brewing works as vanilla intended (nether wart, all standard tier-I potions, extending duration with redstone). The only thing blocked is the Glowstone Dust step, i.e. brewing Tier II (Level II) potions — that tier is reserved exclusively for the plugin's own permanent effects.
