Copper Golems: Mend ’Em & Send ’Em
Copper golems already had a calling: the quiet life of a filing cabinet with legs. Then someone invented oiling, and the clerks started punching zombies.
Heal damaged copper golems with copper ingots, use multiple honeycombs to oil them increasing their speed, and give these copper golems gnat-like melee attacks against nearby hostile mobs.
They're not iron golems, but they have your back anyway.
How It Works
Heal copper golems (Mend)
Right-click any damaged copper golem (vanilla, waxed, or oiled) with a copper ingot to restore 3 HP (25% of their 12 max HP). At full health they keep the ingot and are not healed.
Make them fast (Send)
The first honeycomb is vanilla wax. Honeycomb applied after waxing adds oil: up to five oil tiers, each adding one Minecraft Speed level (Speed I through Speed V) lasting about one real-world hour (72,000 ticks). Oiled golems show an entity timer (via mods like Jade), and a warm honey tint in-world.
Have them fight (Send it!!!)
Oiled copper golems attack hostile mobs that enter an eight-block workspace. They ignore creepers and players. Damage is 0.5 hearts every 2 seconds: enough to help clear a sorting room, not a village patrol. A swarm of copper golems…now that's a different story.
At 4 HP, the oil wears off and they panic, then return to chest sorting. Fire or lava strips the oil and triggers panic immediately; even golems without oil or wax flee fire.
Configuration
Mod Menu and Cloth Config (optional): Mod Menu and Cloth Config are an optional pair. You need both to edit the settings below configs in-game.
Jade (optional): a copper golem's Oiled status and remaining time show in overlays from mods like Jade. Tested with Jade.
Gameplay settings live in config/cgme.json on the logical server. On first run the mod writes defaults:

Supported Versions
Copper Golems: Mend ’Em & Send ’Em is a Fabric-only Minecraft mod. Separate JARs are provided for each supported game version. Copper golems exist from Minecraft 1.21.9, so earlier 1.21.x lines are out of scope.
| Release | Versions |
|---|---|
| 1.21.x | 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11 |
| 26.x | 26.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 |
Setup
- Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API for your Minecraft version.
- Download the JAR that matches that version.
- For multiplayer, install the matching JAR on the dedicated server and every joining client. For single-player, the client installation also covers the integrated server.
- Launch the game. Defaults write themselves; tune them in
config/cgme.jsonor Mod Menu.
Requirements: Fabric Loader 0.18.6+ on 1.21.x (0.19.3+ on 26.x), Fabric API for that game version, Java 21 (1.21.x) or Java 25 (26.x).
Compatibility
- Fabric API is required.
- CGME is required on both sides. Install the matching CGME JAR and Fabric API on the dedicated server and every joining client. A client without CGME cannot join a CGME server; it does not fall back to server-only gameplay without the tint.
- Healing, Speed from oil, and combat run on the logical server. The honey tint, oil highlight, and related client state run on the client.
- Dedicated servers: install the matching JAR on the server. Gameplay settings live in the server's
config/cgme.json. - No known conflicts with other mods. Vanilla chest sorting, oxidation, statue transitions, poppy gifts, and wax/axe interactions stay intact.
