BlockDrops
Exponential drop chaos for Paper 26.2 (Minecraft 26.2). Every block a player mines drops double what it normally would — and every block mined after that doubles the multiplier again. Mine one block, get 2x. Mine two, get 4x. By the tenth block you're pulling 1024x loot out of the ground. The whole server shares one spiraling multiplier, and /blockdrops reset is the emergency brake.
- Requires a Paper 26.2 server (or newer 26.x) and Java 25
- Server-wide multiplier — every player's mining feeds the same counter
- Drops respect your tool: Fortune and Silk Touch work as normal, then get multiplied
- Persists across restarts, and hard-capped so it can never lag or crash the server
The spiral
The multiplier applies to the block you just mined, then doubles for the next one:
| Blocks mined | Drop multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1 | 2x |
| 2 | 4x |
| 3 | 8x |
| 5 | 32x |
| 10 | 1024x |
| 20+ | capped at 1,048,576x (2^20) |
Drops are computed from the block's loot table using the tool you broke it with — enchantments included — then multiplied by the current rate. XP is never touched, only items.
Built-in safety valves
A doubling counter reaches absurd numbers fast, so two caps keep the chaos fun instead of fatal:
max-multiplier(default 1,048,576x) — the counter stops doubling heremax-items-per-block(default 2304) — a single block can never spawn more than 36 stacks of entities, no matter how high the multiplier climbs
When a block hits the item cap, extra items simply stop spawning — the TPS stays smooth while your players drown in cobblestone.

Installation
- Drop
BlockDrops-x.x.x.jarinto your server'splugins/folder - Restart the server (Paper 26.2, Java 25)
- Start mining — watch
/blockdropsclimb
Removing the plugin cleanly restores vanilla drops; the only trace left behind is the saved counter in plugins/BlockDrops/config.yml.
FAQ
Does the counter grow on every block? Yes — any block, by any player, in any world. Glass with no drops still doubles the multiplier. Creative-mode breaks advance the counter too but drop nothing, matching vanilla behavior.
Is the multiplier per player? No — it's one shared server-wide value. Everyone's mining accelerates everyone's loot, which makes /blockdrops reset a real community decision.
Does reset make drops vanilla again? It restores starting-multiplier, which defaults to 2 so the very first block is already doubled (as promised!). Set starting-multiplier: 1 for a fully vanilla baseline.
What about Fortune, Silk Touch, shears? All respected — drops are calculated with the exact tool you used before the multiplier is applied. A Fortune III pickaxe at 8x is a beautiful thing.
Do TNT, pistons or creepers advance the counter? No — only blocks broken by players count.
Will this lag my server? No. The multiplier is capped at 2^20 and no block can ever spawn more than 2304 items, so the worst case is 36 stacks per block, not millions of entities.
Does it work with Spigot? No — it targets Paper 26.2 (it uses Paper's Adventure APIs for messages).
