Rimagined Particles
A server-side plugin for Paper, Purpur, and Spigot that allows you to create your own particle effects through your browser and place them using one command without the need of schematics, datapacks, and any client-side modifications.
What it does:
- Particle Designer on the web. Design custom particle shapes at reimaginedparticles.my.to by setting shape size, number of points, surface rendering or edges-only rendering, and color without any login or downloading of the mod itself.
- One-button import codes. Saving your design on the website will result in generation of 8 characters-long code. Use that code in-game with /rp import code and your shape appears right there where you stand.
- Optimized visibility culling. Particles are only sent to the player if they are looking towards them, and within a specific distance. Turn your back to the particle and it stops being rendered for you, which saves network bandwidth and server load rather than broadcasting to all nearby players.
- Field of View per player. If you play on a wider than default field of view, use /rp fov <your FOV> to adjust visibility cone to match your actual view, and avoid having your particles disappear off the screen.
- Identify mode per player. Toggle floating ID labels above particle effects to identify them. The labels are only visible to you.
- Remains after restarting. Active particles are stored on disk and will automatically reload themselves when the server is restarted (this can take a miniute or two until the server has been fully turned on, and tps is at 20).
- Safety settings built-in. Configurable limits can be set for points per effect and total number of active effects.
Commands:
/rp import <code>
Downloads a pre-saved design from the website using its import code and spawns it at your current location.
/rp import HR4SJC3S
Permission needed: reimagined.admin
/rp remove <id|hash|all>
Deletes an active particle effect by its short ID (as seen from /rp list), long hash or deletes everything at once.
/rp remove a3f9c21b
/rp remove all
Permission needed: reimagined.admin
/rp list
Lists all the currently active particle effects along with their short ID, type and point count.
Permission needed: reimagined.use
/rp info <id|hash>
Provides details about a particular particle effect – including its full ID, color, point count and location.
/rp info a3f9c21b
Permission needed: reimagined.use
/rp identify
Enables floating labels displaying the ID above active particle effects – visible only to you. Permission needed: reimagined.admin
/rp fov <value|reset>
Adjusts your visibility angle according to your actual Minecraft FOV slider, so that particle culling works according to how you see the game. The reset option will restore it to its default server setting.
/rp fov 100
/rp fov reset
/rp reload
Reloads the config of the plugin without restarting the server. Permission needed: reimagined.admin
Website Functionality
- Open reimaginedparticles.my.to in your browser.
- Adjust your shape settings: dimensions, point density, surface/edges mode, and color or add text and images (more to come in the future).
- Preview to view your points without having to go into the game each time.
- Press Save to obtain the import code.
- Use /rp import code command in-game.
All the shape data is created client-side and stored in a tiny shared database - no account creation is needed, and shapes can be viewed on any server that uses the plugin.
Requirements:
- Minecraft 26.1 (and higher)
- Paper, Purpur, or Spigot
- It's a server-side plugin and does not require any client mod or resource pack - vanilla clients can connect and view the particles.
- Default visibility culling feature is active and can be turned off in config.json file in case you want to use classic "broadcast to all" feature.
- The website is a separate program to create and save shapes - the plugin requires import code only.
