Nifty Planks is a tiny texture pack that adds unique planks for every type of wood!
Well, some types remain unaffected, like Oak, which simply uses the default pattern, and Bamboo, since it was already unique. (Does it even count as a wood type? I'm still confused about that.)
Gameplay screenshots describe things much better than words, but I'd still like to explain how every block changes in this texture pack:
Oak - (unchanged) Spruce - 2 rows, has an undulating pattern Birch - 2 rows, has a wavy, triangular pattern Dark Oak - Basically has bigger planks than Oak Jungle - The texture is turned on its side with slight alterations Acacia - The planks are diagonal
Bamboo - (unchanged) Cherry - Planks' orientation alternates between horizontal and vertical Mangrove - Planks take the shape of a Z piece Pale Oak - A little worn, eyes can be seen peeking through
Crimson - The way the colors are used compared to Oak is inverted Warped - The wood is completely deformed and swollen up
Poplar - Includes arrows in the rows, but otherwise pretty basic.
Note that the textures have no added or modified colors, only the way the patterns are drawn is what changes. This was done to remain close to the Vanilla experience. This texture pack should work for any Minecraft version, despite the warnings.
