ShieldGrid
ShieldGrid is a NeoForge mod that adds modular energy shield systems to Minecraft.
Instead of placing a single magic shield block, you build a connected shield network using different functional blocks. Your shield can protect bases, machines, ships, moving contraptions, Create builds, and physics-based vehicles from outside threats.
Modular Shield System
A working shield is built from multiple connected parts:

Shield Controller
The main block of the shield system. It opens the shield GUI and lets you manage energy, settings, trusted players, player/mob entry permissions, upgrades, shield color, and shape mode.
Shield Module
A required field component. The shield cannot activate without it.
Shield Stabilizer
Another required core component. A shield system needs both a Shield Module and a Shield Stabilizer before it can work.
Shield Generator
Produces shield energy by burning fuel such as coal, wood, blaze rods, or lava buckets.
Shield Battery
Stores extra energy for the shield network. It does not create energy by itself, but it helps the shield survive longer.
Shield Range Extender
Increases the maximum protected area when connected to the shield system.
Shield Radar
A counter-defense block that can temporarily disable nearby shields. It has a cooldown and its own upgrade options.
Shield Relay Links separate ShieldGrid networks that are not physically connected. It transfers energy from one linked relay to another, with energy loss during transfer.
Directional Shield Controller The main block for directional shield systems. It creates a one-sided shield wall with 500 energy, its own GUI, upgrades, color settings, and entry permissions. It blocks projectiles from passing both outside to inside and inside to outside, and it can be turned on or off with redstone.
Directional Shield Projector Creates the directional shield wall. The shield forms in the direction the projector faces and only protects that side.

Protection
Shields use energy to block, bounce, or reduce incoming threats.
They can protect against:
- Arrows
- Tridents
- Potions
- Ender pearls
- Ghast fireballs
- Thrown objects
- TNT and creeper explosions
- Mobs and players
- Cannon projectiles with Create Big Cannons compatibility
Every blocked hit consumes energy depending on the threat. If the shield avoids damage for a short time, it starts regenerating. If its energy reaches zero, the shield shuts down temporarily before recovering.
Upgrades
ShieldGrid includes an upgrade system for both shields and radars.
Upgrades are rolled and installed through the GUI, and each shield or radar keeps its own upgrades separately.
Shield upgrades can:
- Increase shield range
- Improve regeneration
- Reduce incoming damage
- Add emergency protection
- Reduce radar interference
Radar upgrades can:
- Increase radar range
- Reduce cooldown
- Extend disruption time
- Block shield regeneration after disruption
- Make low-energy shields stay disabled longer

Extra Features
ShieldGrid also includes:
- Shield GUI controls
- Trusted player system
- Separate player and mob entry settings
- Shield color customization
- Damage log GUI
- Visual impact effects
- Shield sounds
- Spyglass information overlay
- Energy-based shield states
- Redstone control
- Shield Radar counterplay
Create Compatibility
ShieldGrid includes optional compatibility for Create Aeronautics / Sable, allowing shields to work on supported physics-based contraptions.
With Ship Shape mode, the shield can follow the shape of a ship instead of only using a simple box area.
ShieldGrid also supports Create Big Cannons, allowing cannon projectiles to properly interact with shields instead of simply passing through or disappearing.
