Beta Rebuilt

Beta Rebuilt is a 100% Vanilla Datapack that attempts to
recreate Beta 1.7.3 but with all the benefits of modern Minecraft.

Features & Gameplay
Disclaimers
Beta Rebuilt was made for 26.2 ONLY
I do not intend on keeping this pack supported for later versions, though that is subject to change.
Do not use this datapack on existing worlds. This datapack is intended as a stand alone experience which heavily overwrites vanilla features. I cannot guarantee compatibility with any other mods/datapacks that modify terrain generation, biomes, structures, loot tables, or gameplay mechanics. Client-side mods are probably fine.
All screenshots were taken using the Golden Days resource pack.

World Generation
Features such as terrain, ore distribution, underground lakes, biomes, beaches, grass color, and even flower patches have all been designed to emulate Beta. When playing Beta Rebuilt it should feel just like playing Beta.
Environmental Features
Ambient features like the color of light from torches, the brightness of stars, and the darkness of night have all been adjusted to reflect what you would find while playing Beta.

Gameplay Changes
While most of the datapack seeks to recreate the mechanics of Beta such as the food healing system, other features such as animal breeding and the modern armor system have been kept due to certain limitations.
Other features were added that I as the developer wanted to add. These features include the ability to farm pumpkins, apples dropping from oak leaves, foods stacking to 8 items, and a chance for cocoa to drop from zombies. These are minor changes that help make resources renewable or reduce friction while playing.
There is only one custom biome, albiet a rare biome, and it can ocasionally come with a shrine structure.

Toggleable Features
I've included toggleable features that work on a per player basis.
Click here for the Toggle Commands
/trigger beta-rebuilt.additions
This will enable extra crafting recipes like being able to make Mossy Cobblestone. I've added vanilla recipes such as Tripwire Hooks and Pumpkin Pie, so check it out, and if you don't want them just use the command again.
/trigger beta-rebuilt.cake
This will disable the weird work around I used to allow you to eat cake. (it's not a lie)
/trigger beta-rebuilt.sprint
This will disable sprinting, though it isn't perfect. I just wouldn't sprint, but if you're a w tapper this might help.
