Rex Shaders
Rex Shaders is a lightweight shader pack that brings a warm, nostalgic look to Minecraft without destroying your FPS. Soft sunlight, reflective water and gentle atmospheric haze, built to run smoothly even on mid-range hardware.
Features
- Soft shadows with adjustable quality and softness
- Reflective water with animated waves, sky reflections, sun glare and screen-space reflections
- Dynamic sky with warm sunrises and sunsets and deep blue nights
- Atmospheric fog that thickens during rain
- Waving plants: leaves, grass, flowers and crops sway in the wind
- Glowing light sources like lava, lanterns, glowstone and froglights, with a soft bloom effect
- Underwater, lava and powder snow fog
- Custom Nether and End lighting (shadows are disabled there for extra FPS)
- Optional depth of field for cinematic screenshots
Performance Presets

Every effect can be tweaked in-game: shadow quality, shadow distance, sun angle, water transparency, wave speed, fog density, bloom, saturation and more.
Tip: If you need more FPS, lower Shadow Quality, Shadow Distance or turn off Water Reflections first.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.x
- OptiFine (latest version for your Minecraft version)
Installation
- Install OptiFine.
- Go to Options → Video Settings → Shaders → Shaders Folder.
- Drop the
.zipfile into the folder (do not extract it). - Select Rex Shaders from the list.
