Damage to Health

Damage to Health adds a simple but powerful mechanic to Minecraft:

Whenever you deal damage to a mob, your maximum health increases by the amount of damage dealt.

For example, if you deal 6 damage to a zombie, your maximum health increases by 6 HP.

Damage dealt to other players does not increase your maximum health.

Your progress is saved with your player data, so your increased maximum health persists after leaving and rejoining your world.

Installation

Before installing Damage to Health, make sure you download the version that matches your Minecraft version and mod loader.

Required dependencies are listed on the download page for each version.

Windows

1. Download the Damage to Health .jar file.
2. Install the correct mod loader for your Minecraft version.
3. Press Windows + R.
4. Type %appdata% and press Enter.
5. Open the .minecraft folder.
6. Open the mods folder.
   • If it does not exist, create a folder named mods.
7. Place the Damage to Health .jar file into the mods folder.
8. Install any required dependencies.
9. Launch Minecraft using the correct mod-loader profile.

Damage to Health should now be installed.

macOS

1. Download the Damage to Health .jar file.
2. Install the correct mod loader for your Minecraft version.
3. Open Finder.
4. Select Go → Go to Folder...
5. Enter:

~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

1. Open the mods folder.
   • If it does not exist, create one named mods.
2. Place the Damage to Health .jar file inside the folder.
3. Install any required dependencies.
4. Launch Minecraft using the correct mod-loader profile.

Linux

Damage to Health should work on Linux distributions that support Minecraft Java Edition and the required mod loader.

These instructions are primarily intended for Debian-based distributions, including:

• Ubuntu
• Zorin OS
• Pop!_OS
• MX Linux
• Other Debian-based distributions

1. Download the Damage to Health .jar file.
2. Install the correct mod loader.
3. Open your Minecraft directory.

For most standard Minecraft installations:

~/.minecraft

1. Open the mods folder.
   • If it does not exist, create a folder named mods.
2. Place the Damage to Health .jar file inside the mods folder.
3. Install any required dependencies.
4. Launch Minecraft using the correct mod-loader profile.

NeoForge

Damage to Health can be used with supported NeoForge versions listed on the project.

Install NeoForge for the appropriate Minecraft version and place the Damage to Health .jar file and any required dependencies into your mods folder.

Using Fabric Mods with NeoForge

Some Fabric mods can be used with NeoForge through Sinytra Connector and its required components.

However, Sinytra Connector does not provide universal compatibility with every Minecraft version or every Fabric mod.

Compatibility depends on the specific Minecraft version and mod.

If a Damage to Health version specifically lists NeoForge support, using the NeoForge version directly is recommended.

Forge / FML

Damage to Health does not automatically have native Forge support simply because a Fabric version exists.

Some Forge versions may be able to use Fabric mods through compatibility solutions such as Sinytra Connector, but this is version-dependent.

Do not assume that Sinytra Connector works with every version of Forge.

If native Forge support is added in the future, this section will be updated.

AttributeFix

Without AttributeFix, Minecraft's normal maximum-health attribute limit applies.

Installing AttributeFix allows Damage to Health to increase your maximum health beyond Minecraft's normal limit.

If you want to reach higher health values, AttributeFix is recommended.

Important Notes

• Make sure Damage to Health matches your Minecraft version.
• Make sure you download the version for your mod loader.
• Install all required dependencies.
• Fabric, NeoForge, and compatibility-layer installations are not interchangeable.
• Your damage progress is stored with your player data.
• Damage dealt to other players does not increase your maximum health.
