Reapers Gems
Collect powerful gems, manage your life energy, unlock combat abilities, and compete to become the server’s hidden Reaper.
Every gem grants a different advantage, but power comes with risk: dying drains your Energy, weakens your gems, and may leave you vulnerable to other players. The rare Reaper’s Mark turns its owner into The Reaper—an anonymous, heavily empowered player whose mantle can be stolen by whoever defeats them.
✦ Gem System
Reapers Gems includes eight gem types, each available in Tier I and Tier II:
-
Wraith — phase and dodge abilities
-
Pyre — fire-focused combat effects
-
Storm — lightning and flux abilities
-
Vitality — healing and regeneration
-
Gale — jumping, launching, and mobility
-
Haste — speed enhancements
-
Wrath — strength and damage bonuses
-
Hoard — wealth and luck effects
-
Only one gem may be active at a time. Equip a gem in your hotbar or offhand to use it, while spare gems stay protected in your personal Reaper Pockets storage.
⚡ Energy, Ruin, and Death
Every player begins with 10 Energy.
-
Gain 1 Energy for killing a player.
-
Lose 1 Energy when you die.
-
At low Energy, your gems become Ruined and passive effects stop working.
-
At 0 Energy, gems become Broken and abilities are disabled until restored.
-
This creates meaningful PvP stakes without removing the value of progression.
☠ The Reaper
The Reaper’s Mark is a rare ninth gem and is excluded from normal starter-gem rewards. Holding or consuming the Mark—or reaching configured kill and energy requirements—can make a player The Reaper:
-
Hidden from tab list, nametags, chat, and death messages
-
Configurable cloaked identity/skin support
-
Increased maximum health: 20 hearts
-
An unbreakable signature Reaper weapon
-
The weapon cannot be dropped
-
Defeating The Reaper transfers the Mark, weapon, health, and anonymity to the killer
-
Optional ProtocolLib support improves identity concealment through packet handling.
💀 Death Drops and Soulbinding
Not every gem must be lost on death. Server owners can configure which gem IDs are included in droppable-on-death:
- Configured gems can drop to the killer.
- Other gems remain soulbound and return to their owner after respawn.
- Drop protection prevents important Reaper items from being thrown away accidentally.
🔨 Configurable Crafting
-
Recipes are fully data-driven through recipes.yml—no hardcoded recipe layouts required. Included custom items and recipes include:
-
Gem Fragments
-
Gem Trader
-
Gem Upgrader
-
Repair Kit

Revive Beacon
-
Reaper’s Mark
Recipes can use both vanilla materials and exact custom-item ingredients such as reapersgems:gem_fragment.
🛡 Optional Integrations Reapers Gems has no hard plugin dependencies.
