Velocity-WoL
Velocity-WoL is a Velocity proxy plugin that wakes up offline backend servers on demand using Wake-on-LAN (WoL).
When a player connects to an offline server, the proxy sends a WoL magic packet, holds the player in a holding server (such as Limbo) with action bar notifications, and automatically transfers them once the server is reachable.
Features
- On-demand wake-up: Sends WoL magic packets to wake physical hosts when players join.
- Holding & auto-transfer: Keeps players on a waiting server with action bar updates and moves them once online.
- Scheduled downtime: Optional time windows to disable wake-ups during maintenance or nighttime hours.
Requirements
- A registered holding server in
velocity.toml. - Target machine with Wake-on-LAN enabled in BIOS/UEFI and network adapter settings.
Configuration
The plugin generates plugins/velocity-wol/config.conf on first startup.
