Lumen Terrain Engine
Experimental server-side terrain processing framework for Minecraft.
Lumen Terrain Engine (LTE) is an experimental Fabric mod that explores new approaches to terrain processing and chunk workload management for Minecraft servers.
Rather than replacing Minecraft's terrain generation, LTE currently provides the foundation for future optimization systems by introducing an asynchronous processing framework and developer tools that will be expanded over future releases.
Features
- Asynchronous worker thread
- Chunk processing framework
- Terrain processing pipeline
- Detailed diagnostic logging
- Experimental server-side architecture
Planned Features
- Intelligent chunk scheduling
- Player movement prediction
- Native OpenCL integration
- GPU acceleration experiments
- Advanced workload balancing
- Deeper Minecraft terrain generation integration
Status
Lumen Terrain Engine is currently an experimental early-development project.
Version 1.3.1 focuses on establishing the core architecture that future releases will build upon. Many planned optimization features are still under development and are not yet implemented.
Vision
The long-term goal of LTE is to explore modern techniques for improving Minecraft server performance, including asynchronous processing, intelligent workload scheduling, and future hardware acceleration.
The project is intended as a research and development effort into next-generation terrain processing for Minecraft.
Compatibility
LTE is a server-side Fabric mod.
It is designed to work alongside existing optimization mods and does not require any client-side installation.
Recommended Mods
- C2ME
- Noisium
- FerriteCore
- Lithium
These mods are optional and are not required for LTE to function.
