Verity JE Extra

An addon for Verity JE that adds a Verity JE Extra tab to Verity's own config screen. Everything is off by default and gated behind its own toggle.

Nothing here replaces Verity JE. It's a drop-in addon: install both, and a new tab appears in Verity's existing settings menu.

What's added to Verity JE

Things Verity JE doesn't do on its own at all.

Offline Voice — swap the voice behind Verity's built-in CPU speech engine for a Piper model of your own. Fully offline, no server, no API key, no internet connection needed. Click "Import .onnx..." to pick a model file (with its matching tokens.txt and espeak-ng-data folder alongside it), and Verity's own local engine loads it in place of the bundled voice.

fish.audio support — a second Cloud Voice layout built specifically for fish.audio, which Verity has no support for at all. Turn it on and the group narrows to just an API key and a voice model ID; the endpoint and engine model are filled in automatically.

Host Mode — for playing with friends. Normally, every player's game generates Verity's line independently, so one sentence gets paid for once per player and comes back sounding slightly different each time. With Host Mode on, whoever is hosting the world generates each line once and streams the audio live to everyone nearby, so it costs a single request and everyone hears the same take at roughly the same moment. Your API key never leaves the host's machine — only the endpoint, model, and voice are shared.

What's improved from Verity JE

Things Verity JE already has, done more flexibly or fixed outright.

Chat — Verity's own "AI Provider" setting is a fixed dropdown, and for most of those choices the real endpoint is hardcoded internally regardless of what's typed into Verity's own endpoint field. This override gives Verity's chat a genuinely free-form OpenAI-compatible endpoint, API key, and model name, working the same way no matter which provider Verity's own dropdown happens to be set to.

Cloud Voice — Verity's own cloud voice options hardcode Groq's endpoint, or skip authentication entirely for Kokoro. This override takes over speech with its own endpoint, API key, model, and voice, and works no matter what Verity's own TTS Provider setting is or whether its own "Use TTS" switch is even on.

Version coverage — one download works across Verity 6, 6.1, 6.2 Beta 1, and the 6.0.0-beta releases, instead of needing to match a specific Verity version.

Requirements

• Verity JE 6.0 or newer
• YACL (Yet Another Config Lib) 3.6+ — already required by Verity JE, so nothing extra to install if Verity already works

Where to find it

Open Verity's config screen as usual — a Verity JE Extra tab now appears at the end. Each override is its own tickbox; the fields underneath stay locked until you turn it on, and nothing in Verity's own config file is touched unless you do.

Good to know

• Voice input (speech-to-text) isn't covered by any of these overrides — it still runs on Verity's own settings.
• Interrupting Verity mid-sentence doesn't cut audio short yet; a new line of speech still replaces whatever's currently playing.
• Host Mode is new and still being tested against real multiplayer sessions.
