This is an automation origin I thought of. It's lightly based on a game I played called "The Last Clockwinder", highly recommend it.
This was for a tech jam in an origins discord server, but I made a few updates and am putting it here now. The updates were done ages ago, when the tech jam was still ongoing, i just forgot to actually post it somewhere.
In the meantime i did a few stress tests and I can confirm that the origin, even with over 150 automatons running, isn't laggy. the only thing that may cause lag is just rendering them.
(Powers)
Essentially, you just get armour stands to do work for you. Shift + Right Click them with a lightning rod to turn them into automatons.
If you give them an axe, they will cut down any vanilla trees and replant them (from in front of it upwards in a straight line.)
If you give them a sword, they will attack up to two blocks in front of it.
If you give them a pickaxe, they will destroy anything a phantom can phase through.
If you give then a hoe, they will harvest vanilla crops and replant them.
You have a pouch you can use if you press your main power activator.
It can store items, but it's mainly used to store miniature programs.
Programming the automatons
Rename sticks in an anvil to
- forward
- back
- left
- right
- turn left
- turn right
to create components for the script.
Shift + Left Click the armour stand to apply your program to it.
The debuffs are that you break blocks slower and you can't enchant.
