RoleManager is a powerful Minecraft server plugin designed to make player role management simple, clean, and professional. It lets server owners create custom roles such as Owner, Admin, VIP, Member, Builder, Helper, or any custom rank they want, then display those roles directly in chat, above player nametags, and in the TAB list.

The plugin is built for servers that want more than a basic prefix system. Players can have multiple roles, and RoleManager automatically chooses the highest-priority role as their main display role. This means a player can be both VIP and Staff, but the plugin will correctly show the role with the highest priority without confusing the display.

RoleManager also includes a default join role system. New players can automatically receive a default role, such as Member, when they first join the server. This helps keep your server organized from the beginning and prevents new players from appearing without a role or prefix.

One of the main features of RoleManager is its built-in browser web panel. Admins can manage roles, assign roles to players, change default roles, view audit logs, and update settings directly from a web browser. By default, the web panel runs on 0.0.0.0:8867, making it easy to access from your server network.

Security is also considered. The default web login is admin / admin, but the plugin is designed to force a password change after the first login. RoleManager also uses password hashing, session login, CSRF protection, login rate limiting, and audit logs to make the web panel safer for real server use.

Admins can manage everything either from the web panel or through in-game commands. Commands allow role creation, role editing, role deletion, player role assignment, default role setup, reloads, web panel control, and display refreshes. This makes the plugin flexible for both console-based server owners and admins who prefer a visual dashboard.

RoleManager is designed with compatibility in mind. It avoids NMS and CraftBukkit internals, using safer Bukkit/Spigot/Paper APIs where possible. The plugin is especially focused on supporting Paper 26.1.2 and Minecraft 1.21.x versions, while still aiming to work on modern Paper and Spigot-compatible servers.

This plugin is ideal for survival servers, SMP servers, lifesteal servers, minigame networks, roleplay servers, staff-managed communities, and any Minecraft server that needs a clean rank and identity system. Whether you want simple Member/VIP/Admin prefixes or a full role dashboard for staff management, RoleManager gives you a strong foundation.

Important security note: if you expose the web panel outside your local network, protect it properly using a firewall, VPN, Tailscale, or a secure reverse proxy. Binding to 0.0.0.0 means the panel may be reachable from your network, so server owners should always change the default password immediately and avoid public exposure without protection.
