Good Voxel is a resource pack that makes blocks look like they have depth similare to PBR, but without shaders. It uses carefully designed textures to fake a 3D effect, creating the illusion of shadows, even though everything’s still flat.

If you want Minecraft to look a bit sharper and more modern without changing the performance drasticly, just use Good Voxel! Here is a video on it.
