Rest Big Server Optimizer
Rest Big Server Optimizer is an adaptive performance plugin for high-player-count Minecraft servers running Spigot- or Paper-compatible software on Minecraft 1.21 through 26.2.
It automatically reacts to server TPS and local player density, applying stronger optimization only when crowded areas or server load actually need it.
Key features
- Adaptive
NORMAL,BUSY, andCRITICALoptimization modes. - Monitors TPS and nearby player density to choose the required mode.
- Dynamically reduces per-player view distance and simulation distance in dense areas.
- Caps nearby player visibility and visibility distance when load increases.
- Keeps very close players visible with an always-visible radius.
- Automatically restores inherited player distance settings when optimization is no longer required, the plugin is disabled, or the server stops.
- Designed to work without requiring changes to
server.properties,spigot.yml, or Paper world defaults. - Lightweight periodic optimization engine with configurable thresholds and intervals.
Commands
/rbo status- Show optimizer status./rbo reload- Reload configuration./rbo on- Enable optimization./rbo off- Disable optimization.
Aliases: /rbso, /restoptimizer
Permissions
rbo.admin- Access optimizer administration commands.rbo.bypass- Exempt a viewer from visibility and distance optimization.rbo.important- Keep a player visible to optimized viewers.
Default adaptive thresholds
The included configuration uses TPS and density thresholds to move between modes. Busy mode begins below 19.30 TPS or at 55 nearby players, while Critical mode begins below 18.20 TPS or at 75 nearby players. All values can be changed in config.yml.
The plugin is intended for large SMP, Lifesteal, Survival, Practice, event, and network servers where many players gathering in the same area can create unnecessary simulation and rendering pressure.
