The Aurorian Reborn
The Aurorian is a dimension-exploration and dungeon-crawling mod, originally created by shiroroku for Minecraft 1.12.2. This port brings the full Aurorian experience to Forge 1.20.1: a brand-new dimension locked in eternal twilight, three sprawling dungeons, three bosses, and a self-contained ecosystem of ores, gear, machines, and progression.
⚠️ About this version: This is a community-maintained port (not an official release), currently at
1.0.0-beta. It aims to faithfully recreate the 1.12.2 original, but some balance values, textures, and mechanics have been adapted along the way (see Differences from the original below).
A New Dimension
A strange world of silent forests and ancient ruins, frozen in a permanent dusk — soft sky light and low-hanging stars, neither as dark as a normal night nor as harsh as daylight.
- Portals: build a frame from Aurorian Portal Frames and light it with a Silentwood Stick or flint & steel
- Biomes: Aurorian Plains, Aurorian Forest, Aurorian Rough Forest, Weeping Willow Forest
- Terrain: aurorian grass meadows, aurorian stone & deepslate hills, and a full cave system
- Ores: aurorian coal, cerulean, moonstone, geode (crystal), and peridotite
- Moon Water: a unique blue fluid — fill a Cerulean Bucket and take it home to the Overworld
Structures & Dungeons
- Runestone Tower — a towering rune-stone keep with layered combat, crowned by the Keeper's lair
- Darkstone Dungeon — a web-choked dungeon buried underground, ruled by the Spider Mother
- Moon Temple — a temple floating in the sky; climb the spiral path to reach the Moon Queen
- Graveyard, Ruins, and Umbra Tower — scattered points of interest with their own loot rooms
Mobs & Bosses
Three bosses, each with unique mechanics and loot:
- The Keeper — lord of the Runestone Tower; a fire-immune ancient archer
- The Moon Queen — ruler of the floating Moon Temple
- The Spider Mother — master of the Darkstone Dungeon; hangs from the ceiling and spits webbing
Along the way you'll meet the Disturbed Hollow, Undead Knight, Aurorian Slime, Crystalline Sprite, Spirit, and Spiderling… plus the peaceful Aurorian Pig, Sheep, and Rabbit.
Gear & Machines
Multiple self-contained gear tiers, from Aurorian Stone and Silentwood up to Moonstone, Cerulean, Aurorian Steel, Aurorianite, Crystalline, and Umbra:
- Weapons: swords, bows, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, and sickles, each with its own gimmick — launching strikes, chargeable beams, whole-tree felling, durability-freeing enchants, and more
- Armor: Cerulean, Aurorian Steel, and Crystalline sets, plus blocking shields such as the Moonstone, Crystalline, and Umbra Shields
- Dungeon keys: Runestone Key, Darkstone Key, Moon Temple Key, and Moon Temple Cell Key for their matching keyholes — or try to pick the lock with Lockpicks
- Arcane items: amulets, the Orb of Absorption, Living Divining Rod, Webbing, Bepsi, Weeping Willow Sap, Strange Meat, Slime Boots, Spectral Armor…
- Teas & food: four flavored teas (Lavender, Silkberry, Seedy, Petunia) with distinct effects, plus Silkberry, Silkberry Jam, Aurorian Bacon, and more
- Functional machines:
- Aurorian Furnace — smelts faster, and even faster with Chimneys stacked above
- Scrapper — breaks down old tools into scrap (requires a crystal catalyst)
- Moon Light Forge — crafts advanced tools and transfers enchantments; works best under open sky with moonlight
- Silentwood Chest and Silentwood Crafting Table
Enchantments
- Lightning — melee attacks deal bonus lightning damage
- Lightning Resistance — fully negate lightning strikes; resistant armor won't conduct
Progression & Guidance
- Complete advancement tree: 15 advancements leading from your first step into the dimension to toppling all three bosses
- Patchouli guide book: illustrated walkthroughs for every system (requires Patchouli)
- Full loot tables & recipes, plus an in-game config file covering structure density, boss stats, tool multipliers, and more
Requirements
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 |
| Loader | Forge 47+ |
| Version | 1.0.0-beta |

Differences from the original
- Community-maintained port, not released by the original author (shiroroku); licensed under MIT
- Some balance values, textures, and mechanics have been adapted for 1.20.1 and may differ from the 1.12.2 original
- Moon Water is a single simplified fluid; the structure generation for the Runestone Tower, Darkstone Dungeon, and Moon Temple has been rewritten
- Localized into English and 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese)
- Beta release — feedback is welcome
FAQ
- Can't reach the Aurorian dimension? Make sure the portal frame is built correctly and light it with a Silentwood Stick or flint & steel.
- Guide book missing? Install the Patchouli mod first.
- Recipes not showing in JEI? JEI is optional — everything works without it, it just adds a recipe viewer.
