Update v1.9.2: The Weather Stigma Joins Pixlstar + going Vanilla.
Greetings, Starchilds. It has been a long while, and i hope you've all been keeping well.
Direction
The Stigma (pack) has been acquired by Pixlstar, my brand name for all my Minecraft projects and anything outside of Minecraft.
The pack is moving toward a simpler approach while staying capable visually and audio-wise. This Stigma and every future one will follow the slowly revealing lore and atmosphere.
License
- Starting with this version, the pack is All Rights Reserved.
- A custom EULA is being written to cover the most common cases, from private use to modpacks and beyond. This mainly affects anyone who has modified the pack before. Modpack authors are covered in most cases.
- If you need a deeper understanding, read the EULA first, then reach out.
- Older versions keep their older licence.
Polytone Support Removed
I'm no longer using Polytone or any of its capabilities... Big appreciation to its team for the flexibility they offer to thousands of projects!!
Core shaders replace it as much possible. They are simpler and more limited, and they may conflict with other mods or packs..(you just can't avoid it) I'm willing to take that poison rather than give you nothing in return.
- They work mostly on newer Minecraft versions. (1.21.6+).
- Their code changes between minecraft versions, which directly affects me.
- Mods like Sodium or any mod that rewrites or changes code, also affects me too especially in older versions.
- Won't work with Iris.. kind obvious. (talking about the visuals)
What's New
Dream Theme System
Themes are sets of settings and colors that change the overall look of the Stigma in-game. How you combine them with other packs or mods is up to you.
The pack ships with the default theme Aqua Dreams. More will follow once I've covered the other areas this Stigma touches. Future Stigmas will use the same themes, so you can combine them for an enhanced version of a theme. Themes will focus on environment and emotion close to the lore, alongside more general-purpose ones.
- Options support (Respackopts), i recommended to keep installed, as more settings are coming in later updates.
- New sunrise/sunset
- New sun/moon
- New fog, density changes with rain, storms, sunrise/sunset and nighttime.
- Reworked vanilla lighting, custom color and light curves that adapt to weather and time of day (max brightness recommended).
- "Wind"-driven rain and snowfall, now leans left and right.
- New vanilla clouds, if they lag on low-end devices, lower the cloud distance.
- New-ish snow, a build from months ago that I decided to ship. It will be reworked again with the upcoming Stigma.
- New Sky
Fixed
- Snow smooth lighting now works correctly.
