Apple Bonanza 🍎

I made this data pack to make leaf foraging and tree chopping in survival feel a lot more rewarding. It adds configurable extra apple drops, rare Golden Apples and God Apples with particles/sound cues, and a small chance of surprise spider traps when breaking leaves.

Everything can be configured in real-time directly from an interactive chat menu.

What it does

  • Apple Drop Multiplier: Whenever an apple drops from leaves, it drops additional apples based on your settings (default: +2 extra apples).
  • Golden Apple Drops: Chance to drop a Golden Apple from broken or naturally decaying leaves (default: 5%).
  • Enchanted Golden Apple Rarity: Rare chance to uncover a God Apple in the foliage with sound cues and a title fanfare (default: 0.5% / 5 in 1000).
  • Surprise Spider Traps: Breaking leaves has a small chance to spawn a cobweb at your feet and awaken a hidden Spider or Cave Spider (default: 3%).
  • All 11 Tree Varieties Supported: Works on Oak, Dark Oak, Birch, Spruce, Jungle, Acacia, Mangrove, Cherry, Azalea, Flowering Azalea, and Pale Oak leaves.
  • No Tick Lag: Completely advancement-driven. It only triggers when an event happens, with zero constant ticking loops or entity scanners.
  • Clickable Chat GUI: Toggle features with 1-click [ON] / [OFF] buttons, adjust rates, or pick quick presets directly in chat.
  • Admin & Permission System: Keep settings open to all players or restrict them to operators using the ab.admin player tag.

You don't need to memorize any commands—just open the interactive chat control panel anytime by typing:

  • /trigger ab.status set 1 — Opens the chat configuration menu.
  • /trigger ab.set_multiplier set <N> — Sets how many extra apples drop per find (1 to 64).
  • /trigger ab.toggle_golden set 1 — Toggles Golden Apple drops ON / OFF.
  • /trigger ab.set_golden_rate set <1-100> — Sets Golden Apple drop chance (in %).
  • /trigger ab.toggle_enchanted set 1 — Toggles Enchanted Golden Apples ON / OFF.
  • /trigger ab.set_enchanted_rate set <1-1000> — Sets God Apple chance (per-mille: 5 = 0.5%).
  • /trigger ab.toggle_spider set 1 — Toggles Spider trap spawns ON / OFF.
  • /trigger ab.set_spider_rate set <1-100> — Sets Spider trap chance (in %).
  • /tag <player> add ab.admin — Grants permission to edit settings if Admin Mode is enabled.
  • /function apple_bonanza:uninstall — Cleanly removes all scoreboards, tags, and data before deleting the pack.

How to Install

  1. Download the data pack .zip or folder.
  2. Place it inside your Minecraft world's datapacks folder.
  3. In-game, run /reload.
  4. That's it!
