Builder's Burden
Every block a player places increases that player's gravity by 0.001.
Tracked per player: whoever builds gets heavier.
How it works
- Block placement is detected by a
minecraft:placed_blockadvancement, which fires for any block placed by a player. - The block count is stored in the
builders_burden.placedscoreboard. - Gravity is set through the
minecraft:gravityattribute:0.08 + 0.001 × blocks.
Commands
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/function builders_burden:reset |
Resets the counter and restores vanilla gravity. Must run as the player (/execute as <name> run function builders_burden:reset). |
/scoreboard players get <name> builders_burden.placed |
Shows how many blocks the player has placed. |
Configuration
The step is set in data/builders_burden/function/load.mcfunction, in thousandths:
scoreboard players set #step builders_burden.calc 1
1 = +0.001, 10 = +0.01, 50 = +0.05. Run /reload after editing. Gravity a player has already accumulated is recalculated on their next placed block.
Limitations
- The attribute caps at
1.0. With a step of 0.001 the cap is reached at block 920; gravity stops growing after that. - Only blocks placed by a player count. Pistons, flowing liquids and world generation don't.
