About this data pack

This data pack modifies the minecraft:gameplay/chicken_lay loot table to make it possible for chickens to sometimes "lay" feathers instead of eggs.

Installation

Download this data pack.

For versions below 1.21.1, the Chickens Lay Anything data pack is required. Download it here.

Installing on world creation

Click on the More tab, then Data Packs. Drag and drop the downloaded files into the window to add them, then move them to the right panel.

If playing on 1.21.1 or below, make sure that this pack is above the Chickens Lay Anything pack!!

Installing on an existing world

Copy both downloaded files into your world's datapacks/ folder. To find your world folder, select your world in the singleplayer menu / world selection screen, click Edit, and then Open World Folder.

If playing on 1.21.1 or below, follow the steps below:

Load into the world. Enable commands, if neccessary (Pause Menu > Open to LAN > Allow Commands: ON > Start LAN world).

Type

/datapack disable file/chickens-drop-feathers-<mc-version>_<version>.zip

then

/datapack enable file/chickens-drop-feathers-<mc-version>_<version>.zip after file/chickens-lay-anything-<mc-version>_<version>.zip

to make sure this pack is loaded after the library pack.

Close and re-open your world to close the LAN game, if necessary.
