What does this mod/datapack do?
This mod/datapack increases the number of chains you get from the chain recipe. In vanilla Minecraft, you only get one chain for every 2 iron nuggets and 1 iron ingot, which doesn't seem fair. You now get 2 chains instead of 1.
New Chain Recipe
I want to get more than 2 chains per craft.
By default, you get 2 chains, but this amount can easily be changed.
How to get more than 2 chains:
- Download the mod or datapack for the version you want.
- Extract the file.
- Open data/minecraft/recipes/chain.json (In newer versions it's data/minecraft/recipe/chain.json)
- Find
"count": 1
and change the number to your desired amount. - Compress the contents of the folder into a zipped folder (compress the contents; don't move the folder into a zipped folder! You can check if you did it right by opening the archive. If you see one folder only, you did it wrong)
- You're done! (Rename the file extension to .jar instead of .zip if you downloaded the mod and not the datapack.)
Why I made this mod/datapack?
The main reason I made this was for my Craftable Chainmail Armor mod/datapack. It lets you craft chainmail armor using chains, making it more expensive than iron armor. With this mod/datapack, chainmail armor becomes cheaper than iron armor.
