Despite being the endgame dimension, The End is lacking in several areas. While some mods add new world generation and mobs, there is still another flaw that needs to be addressed: entering The End takes you to the same spot every time, so making a base or build deep in the End Wilds is discouraged as it requires you to travel there every time. Even if you use a mod that makes The End interesting to explore, what's the point of all these cool areas if you can't get back to them reasonably?

In the End Wilds, you can occasionally find End Gateways that let you teleport back to the main island. With this datapack/server-side mod, players can link themselves to a gateway of their choice, which will be their entry point to The End until they choose a different gateway or disable the functionality.

Functionality: When a player drops a respawn anchor on top of a bedrock block for an End Gateway, the anchor will be consumed, and that gateway will be activated for them. Whenever this player enters the stronghold portal, instead of going to the obsidian platform, they will directly warp to the spot they were standing when they threw the anchor. This doesn't cause any game-breaking issues, because the player can always use an ender pearl to go through the gateway back to the main island.

Throwing another anchor on a different gateway will change future warps to go there instead. To clear this altogether, a player can throw a chorus fruit on any end gateway (just like the respawn anchors), returning the normal warp point to the obsidian platform.

Compatibility: Any mod or datapack that preserves a) the location of the spawn platform and b) the random spawning of bedrock around end gateways is compatible with this.

For example, the YUNG's Better End Island mod changes the design of the end platform and the end gateways. However, the platform itself is still located in the same place, and the gateways still have a bedrock block directly above them that you can mine to and use.

Uninstalling: You are free to uninstall this datapack without any issues. In fact, reinstalling the datapack should theoretically restore all previously linked gateways, as the datapack uses scoreboards to save its data.
