⚙️ Golemancy ⚙️
Golemancy is my largest datapack project, which currently adds 9 synthetic/technology-oriented Origins. Feedback is both welcome and greatly appreciated!
As this is an Origins data pack, it requires the Origins mod.
THE LATEST VERSION OF GOLEMANCY IS FOR MINECRAFT 1.20+
Shoutout to Krzair!
OVERGROLEM 🟢⚪⚪
"Overgrolems are created by nature itself, and work together with the natural order."
The Overgrolem (hahah) benefits from both farming plants and building with wood. Time for tree houses! It’s designed for minimal change to Minecraft. If you like forests and jungles, this is the Origin for you!
- Camouflage: You can move freely through foliage, and become invisible while inside of it.
- Nature's Gift: Logs yield 6 planks, instead of 4.
- Careful: You're immune to thorny plants.
- Natura Arcana: Your tools and armor slowly mend over time.
- Biofuel: Your body can't convert meat into energy.
- Light Frame: You have two less hearts of health.
TINKERER 🟢⚪⚪
"A tool-centric inventor that adds extra functionality to pre-existing items."
The Tinkerer is a tool-based Origin, entirely designed around the fact that it cannot use a shield! Instead, they are capable of pushing items to their limits, and currently has 35 unique abilities, based on the item in your offhand. If you like creativity, experimentation, and discovery, this is the Origin for you!
- Inventor's Delight: You're able to push ordinary tools and items to their limits.
- Scrap Plating: You have adorned yourself with extra plates of armor. You have a little more protection than normal.
- Volatile Innovations: You take reduced damage from explosions.
- Unwieldy: The way your hands are formed provide no way of holding a shield upright.
STEAM-POWERED 🟢⚪⚪
"A locomotive construct that converts steam into power."
The Steam-Powered is travel-centric Origin, which can grant itself powerful boons after it's generated some Steam. This, combined with ramping speed on rails, allows you to make quick work of menial tasks like mining and travel! If you like efficiency (and running people over), this is the Origin for you!
- Pressurized Batteries: You gain Steam while in water directly above heat sources. Different heating sources may vary in efficiency.
- Steam Engine: You can empower yourself by releasing any accrued Steam. While active, until Steam is empty, gain increased speed, mining speed, attack speed, bonus damage, and regeneration.
- Subway Surfer: Continuous movement on rails builds up additional movement speed. You can also craft rails more efficiently.
- Heavy Metal: You don't need to breathe underwater, but you're too heavy to swim, and sink to the bottom.
- Unceasing Engine: It takes nearly 6 times longer for you to feel tired enough to rest.
- Smokestack: Your body converts food into energy less efficiently, requiring you to eat more.
LIVING DOLL 🟠🟠⚪
"An animated doll, which can sew itself back together."
The Living Doll is a more laid-back Origin, capable of healing itself through the usage of wool and string… but only wool or string. Immunity to fall damage and an inability to starve to death makes this a great Origin for casual players. If you like calmer, simpler gameplay, then this is the Origin for you!
- Cotton Guard: Your unique body renders you immune to most environmental damage.
- Synthetic Stomach: You need less food, and cannot starve to death.
- Patchwork Body: Your body doesn't heal naturally. Instead, you can heal your wounds by consuming wool and string.
- Melting Point: You take double damage from fire.
- Soft Body: You have one less heart of health.
COPPER GOLEM 🟠🟠⚪
"A construction golem capable of exploiting the properties of copper."
The Copper Golem is a builder, capable of creating common tools and blocks out of copper… but also requiring it to heal. It also suffers from oxidizing over time. Even more crafting recipes are planned! If you want copper to be an incredibly useful resource, this is the Origin for you!
- Architect & Metalworker: Because of your familiarity with copper as a material, you can use it to craft many more things. See below for more details.
- Antioxidant: Honeycombs allow you to wax yourself, staving off the effects of Oxidation for several minutes.
- Lightning Rod: While in thunderstorms, you're much more likely to get struck by lightning. You are immune to lightning, and de-oxidize when struck.
- Synthetic Stomach: You need less food, and cannot starve to death.
- Oxidation: Because of the material of your body, your body oxidizes very slowly over time. Oxidation can be removed with an axe.
- Heavy Metal: You don't need to breathe underwater, but you're too heavy to swim, and sink to the bottom.
- Copper Core: Your body cannot be naturally or magically mended. You can heal your wounds by consuming copper ingots.
- Melting Point: You take double damage from fire.
AQUANAUT 🟠🟠⚪
"A living diving suit, designed to traverse the ocean floor."
The Aquanaut is an aquatic Origin, which cannot swim, and instead runs and jumps along the ocean floor with its grappling hook! If you like quirky aquatic Origins, this is the Origin for you!
- Aquabatics: While in water, you fall slower, and can break blocks and see normally.
- Dredge Line: While in water, you can fire a grappling hook to pull yourself to blocks, or entities to you.
- Deep Diver: You can climb up surfaces by using kelp as a ladder.
- Heavy Metal: You don't need to breathe underwater, but you're too heavy to swim, and sink to the bottom.
- Pressurized: You move slower.
SENTINEL 🔴🔴🔴
"A living suit of armor, gifted the ability to modify and augment itself."
The Sentinel allows you to augment and customize yourself by replacing the Vanilla armor system! In addition, it can only heal itself through the usage of Iron ingots/nuggets. If you like the idea of self-augmentation, then this is the Origin for you!
- Augment: You gain the ability to continuously augment your body using resources you find.
- Aura Manipulation: As you augment yourself further, you'll occasionally gain Aura. Aura can be combined with specific items to gain permanent bonuses.
- Construct Stomach: Your body doesn't experience hunger, and you don't benefit from natural regeneration.
- Heavy Metal: You don't need to breathe underwater, but you're too heavy to swim, and sink to the bottom.
- Iron Core: Your body cannot be naturally or magically mended. You can heal your wounds by consuming iron ingots or nuggets.
- Made of Metal: You can't equip armor.
- Melting Point: You take double damage from fire.
- Unconcealable: You cannot utilize invisibility. Upgrade order: None (0) => Copper (20) => Iron (25) => Gold (25) => Lapis Lazuli (50) => Diamond (25) => Netherite (4) => XP levels (7-10). Aura items: Iron (HP), Gold (damage), Lapis Lazuli (out of combat movement speed).
FROSTED GOLEM 🔴🔴🔴
"An entity formed of snow and ice, which prospers in cold climates."
The Frosted Golem is an Origin which emphasizes environment and temperature. It suffers from needing to remain cool, and actively heals at the cost of increasing temperature. It's also capable of moving through snow and ice, which can help it keep cool! If you like the idea of winter wonderlands, this is the Origin for you!
- Ice Body: You may regain health at-will, at the cost of greatly raising your temperature. Additionally, while in snow, you slowly regenerate health over time.
- Meld With Frost: You can freely move through snow and ice.
- Shovelable: You can shovel yourself for snowballs, at the cost of durability.
- Construct Stomach: Your body doesn't experience hunger, and you don't benefit from natural regeneration.
- Thermodynamics: Due to the materials making up your body, you are quite sensitive to temperature. Becoming too hot causes you to melt, and eventually begin to die.
- Frigid: You take triple damage from fire.
- Powder Snow: You have 1 less heart.
MAGMATIST 🔴🔴🔴
"A viscous, molten construct, capable of traveling through lava at high speeds."
The Magmatist is a Nether Origin, which relies heavily on lava– which it can swim through! Staying out of lava for too long causes you to starve, reducing your health and hunger. If you like the idea of molten Merling, this is the Origin for you!
- Magma Armor: Enemies that attack you are set ablaze.
- Boiling Body: You can swim through lava, and are immune to fire.
- Nether Spawn: You spawn in the Nether.
- Sleepless: You cannot rest.
- Molten Core: Due to the materials making up your body, you require constant access to lava.
- Hydrophobia: You receive damage over time while in contact with water.

FAQ:
- "How do I install this mod?" - Golemancy isn't actually a mod-- it's a data pack! Data packs are stored locally within your world folder, and can be installed by dropping it into the datapacks folder. There's a whole list of advantages attached to using a data pack instead of an addon mod, but they're out-of-scope for this description. If you're curious, I suggest you join the Origins Discord server and ask, or just look it up yourself!
"What items can Tinkerer use?" - Tinkerer is intended to invoke feelings of experimentation and discovery; they're meant to be discovered! If you still want a few to start off with, then I recommend trying out fishing rods, hoes, fire charges, and crafting tables.- "What happened to Globetrotter?" - It's bad. Globetrotter didn't do anything it set out to do, and failed to bring anything exciting to the table. Steam-Powered is both its replacement and spiritual successor. If you want to play Globetrotter again, you can use commands to access it. It is also still available in versions prior to 1.5.0.
- "Why did X change so much?" - Golemancy receives updates semi-frequently; these can include a swathe of balance changes, or sometimes reworks. With any luck, all of the big and drastic reworks have already been completed!
- "Why is X so overpowered/underpowered?!" - I can't really hide behind the guise of Golemancy being new anymore-- I'm just not actually that great at balance, so you might find power levels might be a bit off. Plus, when I'm making huge, sweeping changes, some things may slip through the cracks! Feedback is greatly welcome!
- "Where can I give feedback, ask questions, or report bugs?" - Well, aside from the CurseForge comments, I have a Discord server now!
- "What's with this new banner at the bottom?" - I'm glad you asked! In what feels like a landmark event for me, I've officially partnered with Kinetic Hosting. While I will always recommend doing your own research for something like server hosting, my own research into Kinetic Hosting has been nothing but positive. Check them out-- and maybe use my code to support me a little! Or just for the discount. Never turn down a coupon. Words to live by.
