Get the most out of wolves with Greater Wolves. Ever wanted to build a wolf army and not worry about logistics (healing, sitting, unsitting, etc)? I personally have spent way too long right clicking one wolf at a time in my armies or finding that one whimpering dog in the haystack of the army.
It's gotten to the point where I will decide if deploying the army is worth the fight or not, given the price of time unsitting them all. Well, I got fed up with that and made a solution.
Wouldn't it be great if your wolves were greater?
Features
- Command all your wolves to sit/unsit with the dream/call goat horn (respectively)
- Have your wolves be included in the passive healing mobs (like horses; 1 hp restored every 30 seconds)
- Wolves will consume dropped rotten flesh to heal when needed. Ready for the next target.
- Dye a wolf collar black to have it ignore the sit/unsit commands issued by the horn
- Dye a wolf collar white to promote it to a commander wolf, which targets and rallies other wolves to target zombies automatically as they would skeletons
Don't have goats in your world?
No problem. Just like in real life, you can command your dogs to sit or unsit by voice. You can do this in Minecraft by running commands with /trigger gw_sit
and /trigger gw_unsit
How does the wolf commander work?
By dyeing the collar of a wolf white, you 'promote' it to commander. Commanders will attack zombies unprompted and instruct other non-white-collared wolves to join in. They only initiate an attack if they are at full health, or if another commander initiates an attack. You really only need one at a time for smaller armies. But for large armies, where wolves are plenty, you may benefit having more than one.
Since the first attacker of a zombie would come from the commander, the zombie will attack the wolf before dealing with the player. This means commander wolves are vulnerable to attack from zombies they target indiscriminatingly. They target husks, drowned, and regular zombies (not zombie villagers).
