This datapack is really simple: it adds a "belt" slot for Curios API, and uses Radiant Gear to add the dynamic lighting. Because of that, this mod requires both of those mods in your pack to work at all, let alone properly. v1.0 adds only the Lanterns, and v1.1 adds Torches to the list (that's the only difference between the versions, so pick the one you prefer).

To put this datapack into your game, do one of two things, depending on how you want it applied:
First, for folks who only want it in a specific server/world:
-
Download file
-
Navigate to (your minecraft file path)/saves/datapacks and drop the zip file in there (don't unzip it).
Second, for those who want it applied to all their worlds in that instance:
-
install Open Loader: https://modrinth.com/mod/open-loader
-
install this datapack (don't unzip it)
-
load any world
-
close out of the game
-
navigate to (minecraft file path)/config/openloader/data and drop the file in there (again, don't unzip it!)
Thanks in large part to TheIllusiveC4 for helping me understand how datapacks work and dealing with my frustrations throughout making this, as well as providing the system for which I could even make this possible.
If you would like to do something similar yourself, or you're wanting to edit/add to this datapack, refer to this guide on how to do Curios-integrated Datapacks: https://docs.illusivesoulworks.com/category/curios
