About
Lumenfuchs' Dummy is a proof-of-concept datapack featuring multiple "pseudo-entities", beings of unusual composition which defy the laws of conventional "entity-like" behavior. With unique stalking abilities and odd interactions with the environment, these creatures will make their presence as strong as they are unavoidable.
As of today, two entities exist in this datapack. They are as follows:
The Dummy
The Dummy is a humanoid who closely observes players unaware of its presence. When not actively looked at, it slowly approaches its target, ignoring any obstacles or foes in its path. Upon getting close enough to a target (which usually involves the target approaching the Dummy on their own), it releases a powerful blast of grim energy, a near-unavoidable attack which leaves both the victim and the Dummy vulnerable to being easily killed.
The Dummy is said to haunt those who wander in darkness for too long, but reports of its presence in other dimensions suggest an even stronger presence outside of the Overworld. Another known way to summon a Dummy consists of mimicking an Iron Golem's summon procedure, by replacing the iron with a black-dyed material and the pumpkin with a Glowstone block. The Gods, however, do not take lightly upon this approach.
The Seeker
The Seeker is a lesser variant of the Dummy, easily distinguishable by its Pumpkin head. Unlike the Dummy, the Seeker specifically targets all non-player creatures, harming them with a weak but consistent thorns damage. Nonetheless, directly staring unto one will still direct its attention towards the player; As seemingly "harmless" as they may appear, caution is still advised.
The Seeker, unlike its stronger counterpart, does not spawn naturally. Instead, a defeated Dummy has a rare chance to yield a Seeker Spawn Egg, which summons a Seeker for a short amount of time. Strangely (or fortunately) enough, a slain Seeker may also yield a Seeker Spawn Egg with the same odds as a Dummy.

Settings
All behaviors of the datapack are configurable in-game by running /trigger lumenfuchs.settings
; Customization, behavior and compatibility-affecting features may all be edited to one's liking within a "settings panel" in chat.
On rare occasions, upgrading your datapack or messing with its settings may cause things to stop working unexpectedly. In such cases, resetting some or all of its data may restore it to a functional state:
- Running
/trigger lumenfuchs.settings set 400
will set any missing setting, which helps in most cases where upgrading caused the issue.- Running
/trigger lumenfuchs.settings set 500
will reset all settings to their default values; This is an extreme but effective option if a setting is set to an invalid value and can't be edited in the settings panel. If neither of those fix your issue, consider reporting a bug on GitHub.
