Description
This datapack, as it's name suggests too, makes Minecarts pretty much the speed of sound, and it's way faster than a normal "/gamerule minecartMaxSpeed 1000", this can go around 408 blocks/second, or around 1.468 million blocks per hour, if you pair this data-pack with Distant Horizons, A really really long minecart rail, and a fast computer, you can get the full experience of this data-pack, as in the following video, since the speed is 408 m/s and the speed of sound is 343 m/s on average, we can calculate that it is exactly mach 1.189504373177843.
Notes
- 🚅 Although this data-pack has been tested and has worked, you can actually make the minecart go even faster, that is if you have a better computer, and you can do this by going into the data-pack and tinkering with the speed.mcfunction file
- ⚠️ The maximum recommended speed, and especially for a very good computer is around 408 m/s, and even with that, chunks still struggle to load, so we recommend you tinker with the speed.mcfunction file and tinker it to your liking until you get the speed you want
- ⌚ If you plan to use this on a server, we recommend you lower down the speed and tinker with the speed.mcfunction until you get a speed of around 20 - 30 m/s, which is still fast and can keep up with the server's performance, but using the default speed of this data-pack will cause massive lagspikes since it's loading so much chunks and the anti-cheat spamming your console, and rendering this data-pack useless
Bugs and Problems
Although everything might seem cool, there is a bunch of bugs, here are the following :
- 📜 If you use this data-pack on a PaperMC server or anything that is forked off of it, will cause a bunch of problems for the player, since the Minecart goes so fast, the server thinks they are cheating, even though it's not supposed to do that, although you can bypass that.
- ❌ If there is a block infront of the Minecart even where the Minecart is supposed to stop, it will not stop immediately only if the Minecart is going full speed, and if it does touch the block, it will go through the block.
- ⤵️ Curves, due to minecraft's math for clamping curves, this math absolutely breaks down if you are going Mach 1 in Minecarts, and you can tell by that because you litteraly curve around 16 - 32 blocks before the curve, because the speed calculation is way too fast
Compatibility
- 📦 This data-pack supports version from 1.18 up to 1.20.4, it will probably not support the latest version of Minecraft, since NBT has been changed drastically after 1.20.4 and that has halted the development of this data-pack
- ⚙️ This data-pack has unknown incompatibilities with mods, although this has not been proven yet to have any incompatibilities with mods, it is better to be cautious with combining this data-pack and mods. Although please report any issues to the GitHub Repository issues page, and I will try to fix it!
Video
There will be 2 videos, one with the default speed that comes with this data-pack, and the second video is the data-pack with modified settings to make it faster, which you can do to by tinkering the speed.mcfunction
- 📗 Default Speed Video
This is the default speed you get from downloading the data-pack and you can check out a preview of the data-pack with it's default speed in action below, although below this one you can check out the modified "faster" version of the data-pack
- 📕 Faster (Modified) Speed Video
This is the modified "faster" version of the data-pack which is modified to go faster, and you can do it yourself too, by of course going into the speed.mcfunction file and tinkering with it, and please report anything to the GitHub Repository issues page
