Montane datapack. A datapack that adds elevation based biomes, taller mountains, deeper oceans, and so much more!
Note: this datapack does not need a high render distance to look good. You're welcome.
Features
-
Terrain
-
Mountains have been extended and are now able to generate up to the build limit.
-
Oceans are now much deeper; able to generate all the way down to y-54. That's over 100 blocks!
-
The world has been split into continents, measuring thousands to tens of thousands of blocks across, seperated by similarly sized oceans.
-
Caves, mineshafts, trial chambers and ocean monuments have been made rarer.
-
The stronghold generation system has been overhauled and now generates an infinite amount of strongholds randomly throughout the world.
-
Biomes
-
The biome placement system (biome source) has been completely overhauled.
-
Biomes now generate based on elevation as well as temperature and humidity and are now split into 5 elevation zones: Lowland, Foothill, Montane, Subalpine, and Alpine.
-
The basalt deltas biome has been put into the overworld as well the nether and generates as volcanoes in the most mountainous of areas, volcanic islands in the places furthest away from the coast, and underground as lava caves. Nether fortresses have been removed from the basalt deltas biome.
-
Pale garden and mushroom island are now purely swamp type biomes.
-
Vanilla mountain and windswept type biomes can now generate in any elevation zone.
-
Dripstone and lush cave biomes no longer go as deep underground as they did in vanilla.
-
Deep dark biome now generates only under the coldest of temperature zones.
-
Removed kelp, seagrass, and all structures except for shipwrecks from the deep oceans.
