Mortis

Mortis is a datapack that handles everything from cosmetics, to convenience with your items after you die.

Quick start guide

Type in chat "/function mortis:gamerule_" and tab/autofill to see what the options for gamerules are. There are some presets that are available to make things easier, there is the "all" preset that will make all the options in Mortis active, and then there is the "none" preset that disables everything with Mortis.

Gamerule list

HeadDisplay: A skeleton skull will appear at the location of the player's death

ShowLastDeathCoordanates: Tells the player in chat where they died

SaveItemsFromVoid: When you go low enough in The End, you will instantly die, and keep your items after death like KeepInventory.(DISCLAMER: As of now, this gamerule will most likely not work on void worlds, or in the overworld/nether if someone goes in the void, i am working on improving the datapack/mod to add functionality to these such parts.)

ItemInvulnerability: When the player dies, their items will not despawn or take damage.

ItemClumping: Clumps all items together at the exact point of death for the player

ItemGravity: Disables item gravity and all items will not fall (Nat. side effect of last gamerule)

OwnerItems: Makes it so that any other player besides the player that died will not be able to pick up that said players items

/trigger commands

/trigger DeathCount: Shows the amount of times you have died in a given world.

/trigger LastDeath: Will display the last place you died, is not affected by the "TellLastDeathCoordanates" gamerule being "true" or "false"

Beta stuff

SaveItemsFromVoid gamerule working in "the_void" biome

Conclusion

Have fun, and keep your items safe!

QnA

Q: Can I copy/modify the code in your datapack/mod?
A: As long as you don't distribute the modded version, you may use any or all of my code for your pack, as long as appropriate credit is given.

Q: Can I use this pack on my public/private server?
A: Go right ahead, I personally don't care what you do with this on any server. Have at it.
