No Mending Librarian Trades

This datapack removes the Mending enchanted book trade from librarian villagers. It works by overriding the vanilla enchantment tag minecraft:tradable and excluding minecraft:mending. As a result, librarians will no longer offer Mending books at any level, while all other trades and mechanics remain unchanged.

  • No librarian will trade Mending enchanted books.
  • All other librarian trades stay vanilla.
  • Works in singleplayer and multiplayer.
  • Server-side only — no client mods or resource packs required.
  • Compatible with Minecraft 1.21 through 26.3.

Installation

  1. Download the .zip file.
  2. Place it into your world’s datapacks folder.

  • For servers: <server>/world/datapacks/

  • For singleplayer: <saves>/<world>/datapacks/

  1. Run /reload or restart the server.
  2. Use /datapack list to confirm it is active.

Notes

  • Existing librarians that already have a Mending trade may keep it. To fully apply the change, use new librarians, reset trades, or start a new world.
  • This datapack only affects librarian villager trades. It does not remove Mending from loot, fishing, or other sources.
