Details
The modpack only covers release versions. If you want to use it in snapshot versions, please download the datapack version.
By default, this data pack disables block destruction caused by Creeper explosions. While block griefing is disabled (creeper_griefing = 0(false)), Creepers still deal damage to entities — set creeper_damage = 0(false) as well to disable that damage too.
Game Rules
Scoreboard-based. Manage the rules with
/scoreboard players set <rule name> gamerule <0(false)|1(true)>.
| Rule ID | Description | Type | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| creeper_griefing | Controls the interaction between Creeper explosions and blocks. When disabled, Creepers cannot destroy blocks. This does not conflict with the mob_griefing rule. |
Bool | false(0) |
Whether Creeper explosions can break blocks |
| creeper_damage | Controls whether Creeper explosions damage entities. When disabled, explosions from Creepers deal no damage to entities, but knockback is retained. | Bool | true(1) |
Whether Creeper explosions can deal damage |
FAQ
Q1. How do I change a Creeper's ExplosionRadius?
When the features provided by this data pack are active (i.e. the rules creeper_griefingand creeper_damage are not both 1(true)), use the following command to change a Creeper's explosion power on the fly:
execute as <target selector> on passengers as @s[type=minecraft:marker, tag=ncg.explosion, limit=1] run data modify entity @s data.radius set value <value>
If the rule is not enabled by the player, simply modify the Creeper's entity data directly.
