Unable to craft a chest
Chests are the mainstay of a settled base-dweller. Travel lightly and don't hoard items in chests. Explore the world as a nomadic wanderer and discover new tools and loot throughout the lands
Furnaces are not craftable
Furnaces encourage smelting of ores, and thus mining of ores, which is discouraged here. Travel the world and find tools, loot and villagers to trade with, as you wander.
Flint Axe
Since you can not punch trees, try to craft a primitive flint axe instead. The 2x2 recipe is a great early game primitive tool. Gravel and leaf blocks are helpful here, or else dead bushes in a desert biome.
Charcoal Kiln recipe yields two charcoal in the very early game
Travelling the world as a nomad takes a lot of food. Without furnaces, the campfire is crucial for cooking raw meats. Obtaining coal and charcoal are both tricky in the early game, so try this recipe to obtain the much desired ingredients for a campfire
Ender Chest is easier to craft now
After dying in this semi-hardcore world, you will respawn randomly far away from your death coords. The trade off here is that you can get back to your ender chest easier with this new improved recipe. No Eye of Ender needed !
