IMPORTANT: This pack has a required resource pack! It won't work without it (be sure to click on the version's name intsead of just clicking "download" otherwise you'll miss it!)
This data pack adds over 12 new types of materials, 17 new armor and tool sets, and completely rework's Minecraft's ore progression! Adds new shields, bows, crossbows, horse armor, trim materials, armored elytras, and even a whole new weapon type: The Hammer!
(I made this as a fun experiment to see how much could be accomplished using just data packs alone, not a serious critique of Minecraft's design. It might not be as "professional" as other data packs, and it may be janky and/or buggy at times).
PROGRESSION CHART:
!!! IMPORTANT NOTES !!!
-
This pack is designed for survival mode first and foremost! Items that appear in the creative menu DO NOT have any components or nbt data! All the spawn eggs and command blocks that have been retextured still function normally, and in order to get the materials you have to do so using crafting recipes!
-
This data pack is NOT compatible with other worldgen data packs such as Terralith. Any data packs that alter vanilla chest loot tables won't work either. In general, this pack was not designed to function with other packs, use at your own risk.
-
All the new ores and blocks are retextured vanilla blocks. All the deepslate ore variants have been replaced (except iron due to limitations with large iron veins). The new end blocks (Anorthosite and Breccia) are retextured chiseled blocks (can still be used, but now you need to use double-slabs for those materials instead).
-
The data pack also isn't really compatible with most custom item data packs (and NO I don't plan on adding any support for mods). If you want to use other people's mods with this, don't come to me if it doesn't work. The pack is made for vanilla first and foremost.
-
I tried to make it as close to vanilla as possible, so all of the data pack's recipes can be found in the crafting recipe book (with the exception of the smithing table). The advancements and recipe book should hopefully help you to figure out how to craft everything properly (there is no wiki).
-
All the armor types use Armor Trims to get the proper textures. Because most of them are leather armor, I tried to get the dye color to match as close as possible so you can still add trims to them... But just be aware that they won't look too pretty (and some armor sets, mainly Soul Tourmaline, Rose Gold, and Pink Diamond, are NOT leather armor). This will be fixed if I ever get around to updating it, since Mojang added support for custom armor textures recently.
-
I also had to remove the trims from the item texture because there were too many to deal with.
-
The Hammer is a debug stick... Because of this, there's a weird bug that prevents it from letting you mine blocks with it. It also doesn't lose durability when you hit things with it... Despite it being intended to function as a weapon. I couldn't think of any way to fix this. :(
-
I haven't tested in multiplayer, but it should work properly.
-
The trailer has outdated textures.
-
Doesn't support all languages, so be aware that some items will not be named properly depending on what language you are using.
-
If you use the Totem of Keeping when "Keep Inventory" is turned on, then dying will cause it to be turned off, due to the way it was implemented (You have been warned).
