This data pack takes otherwise normal Pokémon and alters their stats by increasing them to make battles easier. In addition, you can choose whether they have access to these boosted stats or not using the /pokeedit command. Example: /pokeedit 1 partner=true
This is solely inspired by the Partner mechanic from Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, and is planned to be expanded to all Pokémon instead of just those two.
-
Added the Partner aspect to the game! A Pokémon with this aspect active will have an increased base stat total! More powerful Pokémon, like the Legendaries, pseudo-legendaries, Mythicals, Ultra Beasts, and Paradox Pokémon have a BST increase of 100 points, while all other Pokémon have a BST increase of 110 points! (This is solely for balancing)
- Starting in v1.2.5, you can give this aspect to your Pokémon without needing to use commands by reaching maximum friendship with it, then "evolving" it.
-
Added said Partner aspect to the evolutionary families of Mega-capable Pokémon, first partner Pokémon, all Legendaries, pseudo-legendaries, all Mythical Pokémon, the Ultra Beasts, all Paradox Pokémon, all Pokémon with regional forms, the Pikachu line, Eevee and the Eeveelutions, Ditto, the Nincada line, and the Tinkatink line!
- The Eeveelutions in particular have also received an additional Ability if they have the Partner aspect active (however, they lose it if the Partner aspect is disabled for them).
- Partner Jolteon gains access to the Ability Steadfast.
- Partner Flareon gains access to the Ability Sheer Force.
- Partner Vaporeon gains access to the Ability Rain Dish.
- Partner Espeon gains access to the Ability Telepathy (originally Magic Guard).
- Partner Umbreon gains access to the Ability Unnerve. Partner Umbreon's Hidden Ability was also changed from Inner Focus to Intimidate.
- Partner Leafeon gains access to the Ability Infiltrator.
- Partner Glaceon gains access to the Ability Competitive (originally Slush Rush).
- Partner Sylveon gains access to the Ability Friend Guard.
- The Mega Evolutions of these Pokémon are taken into account and have all received a modified base stat total as well.
- Some Partner Pokémon also get Ability changes or gain an additional Ability!
- Mega Gallade's Ability was changed from Inner Focus to Sharpness.
- The Beldum line had its Hidden Ability changed from Light Metal to a much more beneficial Ability in Heavy Metal.
- Partner Froslass receives Infiltrator as a secondary standard Ability.
- Partner Pokémon that can ride on your shoulder give beneficial potion effects as long as they remain on your shoulder!
- The Eeveelutions in particular have also received an additional Ability if they have the Partner aspect active (however, they lose it if the Partner aspect is disabled for them).
-
Starting in v1.3, Partner Pikachu and Partner Eevee can learn their exclusive moves from the Let's Go games (except for Pika Papow and Veevee Volley respectively) via level-up.
-
If you are using the Extra Eeveelutions mod, the unofficial Eeveelutions have also been taken into account and have all received a modified base stat total.
-
Starting in v1.4, if you are using the CobblemonRider mod in your instance/modpack, there is a separate download that gives you an updated config that features Partner Pokémon, allowing you to ride them as you would with their regular non-Partner variants. To use it, download the extra "Rider config" zip file in any version starting from v1.4, copy the config file within it, and paste it into your world's folder. Do not put it into your resource pack or data pack folder, they won't work if you try it. Only use this if you have that mod in your modpack.
Current issues:
- Partner Pokémon are currently unable to use signature Z-Moves due to the exclusive Z-Crystals only working when the Pokémon that's holding them have exact aspects (and since the Partner variants have the Partner aspect as well, the exclusive Z-Crystals don't work).
- Gigantamax Partner Pokémon are currently unable to use their G-Max Moves for the same reason exclusive Z-Crystals don't work.
Planned:
- Add more available Partner Pokémon.
- Fix the exclusive Z-Crystal issue in order for the Partner variants to make use of them.
- Fix the G-Max Move issue.
Warning: DO NOT put Partner Pokémon into a teambuilder. They will NOT show up at all. If you're going to put them into a teambuilder, disable the Partner aspect first. This also does NOT have compatability with the Cobblemon Transporter, so please don't try to place Partner Pokémon in there.
To use this data pack, you must insert it into your world's data pack folder. For those who don't know how to do this, all you need to do is go into the "saves" folder of the instance you're using, select the world you want to put the data pack on, open the "datapacks" folder, then drop the download in there. No need to unzip it.
