IMPORTANT NOTICES
This datapack was split from another datapack of mine that adds more weapon types. https://modrinth.com/datapack/ppgs-weapon-expansion
Currently this Datapack offers:
Enchantments - more detailed explanations on the wiki. https://trello.com/b/lNzF0pcy/ppgs-combat-enchantments
Melee Weapons:
- Midas Soul - Attacks consume gold to deal increased damage.
- Fling - Attacks send targets flying upwards.
- Heavy Swing - Increased damage substantially but only when grounded. Also inflicts slowness on the user when attacking.
- Slugger - Attacks have a chance of inflicting a short but strong slowness effect.
- Dive Bomb - When held, provides jump boost. Upon falling at least 4 blocks, cause an explosion directly on target hit (WARNING VERY DESTRUCTIVE)
- Divinity - Grants user absorption on kill
- Energize - Grants user a short burst of haste and speed on hit
- Enfeeble - Inflicts mining fatigue on hit
- Exploit - Increased damage against targets afflicted with a negative effect
- First Impression - Increased damage against targets without a First Impression mark. Applies First Impression mark after hit
- Maximum Might - Increased damage when user's food bar is full
- Osmosis - Attacks have partial armor penetration
- Parry - When holding weapon and attacked by an entity with an axe or sword, inflict a short duration of weakness on attacker
- Peak Performance - Increased damage when user's current health is full. Increased max health and/or absorption will further increase enchantment effect
- Rage - Increased damage as the user's current health gets lower
- Strongarm - Increased throwing damage
- Venomous - Inflicts poison on hit
Shields:
- Reflect - Arrows blocked are reflected in direction you are facing.
- Counter Attack - After successfully blocking an attack, damage from this weapon is increased and a short burst of speed is granted, both for a short period of time.
- Stalwart - Knockback immunity when in offhand
Bows:
- Arrow Rain - Crit arrows summon a rain of arrows on targets hit
- Strafe - Crit arrows grant user a short burst of speed on hit
- Straight Shot - Arrows ignore gravity
Armor:
- Vitality - Increases max health
- Weak Armor - reduces armor effectiveness but increases movement speed when worn
Enchantment Synergies:
- Big Spender (Gold Weapon + Midas Soul): Damage bonus increases greatly, but so does gold cost. When gold is consumed, item is repaired slightly.
- Gold Digger (Midas Soul + Looting): Attacks have a chance of giving the user gold.
- Vanguard (Slugger + Heavy Swing): Getting attacked while holding this grants user resistance.
- Total Decay (Bane of Arthropods V + Venomous II + Fire Aspect II): Combines all fire and poison effects into one potent wither effect.
- Black Widow (Bane of Arthropods + Venomous): Victim is inflicted with a more potent poison.
- Blessed (Smite + Divinity): Gain short lasting regeneration when attacking.
- Burning Toxins (Fire Aspect + Venomous): Victim is inflicted with wither instead of poison.
- Critical Eye (Maximum Might + Peak Performance): Attacks have a chance of dealing a bit of extra damage.
- Disarm (Parry + Looting III + Khopesh): Attacking a mob holding an axe/sword will force it to drop.
- Fiery Disposition (Fire Aspect + Rage): When attacked while holding the item, gain a burst of haste.
- Voltage (Smite + Energize): Attacks have a chance of a lot of extra damage. Chance increases as Smite level increases.
Since Sharpness is commonly considered the best "damage" enchantment for melee weapons by a long shot, I wanted to find a way to make the other options viable without nerfing or otherwise changing the identity of Sharpness. So, my solution was to create combos of enchantments that, when both/all are present on a single item, provide bonus special effects. Sharpness remains the most consistent and straightforward method of boosting damage, but Smite and Bane of Arthropod have more opportunities to at least somewhat catch up to Sharpness in unique ways, in addition to some of the new enchantments added.
