RustRework is an opinionated rework of the default Origins. I think that Origins should provide interesting gameplay changes that you need to play around.
Changes:
Shulk
- Shulk's extra inventory now drops on death. I felt that, as someone who plays on servers with
keepInventory true
, Shulk's main benefit (slots that keep on death), was pointless, and prevented people who might otherwise pick it from doing so, so I removed this aspect.
Blazeborn
- Blazeborn now has one level of natural soul speed. I just think that it's a nice touch.
Feline
- Feline no longer has the Weak Arms power, which effectively prevents any mining by making it only possible to mine when there are two or less adjacent stone blocks.
- Feline has been made a Carnivore to balance this out.
Elytrian
- Elytrian can now wear heavy armor, but it prevents them from flying. I find that the original ability often is annoying in modded settings, so now you have a tradeoff to wearing other armors.
- Elytrian now freezes above Y=128, giving the powder snow freeze effect if already in flight. If wearing elytra, you will not freeze. I find that this is an interesting downside that needs to be played around, and limits the usefulness of the main ability.
- In 1.2.11, being above Y=128 prevents taking off.
- In 1.3.0, the prevention of takeoff has been replaced with accelerated falling, causing you to drop out of the sky.
- Elytrian no longer has the launch ability. I think that having an innate way to launch yourself prevents players from utilizing other methods of propulsion.
- Elytrian no longer has the Claustrophobia power. I find that stacking status effect powers are simply bland and easily ignorable.
No other changes have been made.
