Soulbound
Soulbound adds a vanilla-style enchantment that lets specific equipment stay with you after death.
Instead of using keepInventory for your entire inventory, only items enchanted with Soulbound are protected.
Features
- Adds the Soulbound I enchantment
- Soulbound items return after death
- Items are restored to their original slot after respawning
- Works with weapons, tools, armor, Elytra, shields, and other normally enchantable equipment
- Preserves the original item, including durability, enchantments, custom names, lore, trims, and other item data
- Works without enabling vanilla
keepInventory - Server-side only
Getting Soulbound
Soulbound enchanted books can appear in Librarian trades, just like other enchanted books.
Soulbound does not appear in the enchanting table.
Once you get a Soulbound book, combine it with compatible equipment using an anvil.
For testing or admin use:
/function soulbound:give
How it works
If you die with a Soulbound sword in hotbar slot 1, it will return to hotbar slot 1 after you respawn.
The same applies to armor and offhand equipment.
For example:
- Soulbound sword → returns to the same hotbar slot
- Soulbound shield → returns to the offhand
- Soulbound chestplate → returns to the chest slot
- Items without Soulbound → are not protected
Curse of Vanishing
Soulbound and Curse of Vanishing are incompatible.
An item cannot have both enchantments at the same time.
Installation
- Download the Soulbound
.zip. - Place it inside your world's
datapacksfolder. - Run:
/reload
if it does not load you may have to restart the World/Server
Do not install multiple versions of Soulbound at the same time.
