A huge update for the wandering murderer!
I feel like it is more of a boss than a horror creature at this point
- Added a bossbar to those within 64 blocks (by TheBreadGiver)
- Added boss music, which features multiple looping song parts (by Nangineer)
- This may be somewhat glitchy when the TPS is lower than 20 (will just cut out temporarily)
- A music disc is available through trading with wandering traders after surviving the trader’s onslaught. This is the full boss theme.
- The trader’s onslaught will end if a player is killed by it, and no rewards will be given (the disc opportunity)
- Added an actual settings function (creative mode players can see the message after joining, or using /reload. alternatively, use
/function milk:settings
to activate.- Do Interactive Crafting: interactive crafting can now be disabled, and will remove all the interactive crafting tables within the world, and prevent others from appearing.
- Do Fire Spawning: When molotov milktails are thrown, there is a chance for fire to appear, which is now disableable.
- Do Spawning: Determines whether the wandering murderer can be spawned through killing a wandering trader. Note that this doesn’t disable whey protein powder.
- Do Digging: Heavily experimental features that attempts to add the capability of the wandering murderer digging through the ground to reach the player. After realizing that this was way to powerful, I made it an option, and stopped developing it.
- Do Griefing: Seems like the wandering murderer has destroyed several houses in attempts to tear the player’s “tower” down, so this will disable that, and instead, knocks the player off the top of the tower or structure.
- Do Kidnapping: boy does this sound wrong. Determines whether the wandering murderer can abduct players. both by sneaking up, or during regular fights.
- Do Music: the boss fight music could get annoying after a while (certainly not me though, i personally love it), so there is now a setting for it.
Welp that’s all the big stuff, now onto fixes and QOL stuff:
- As an extra precaution to prevent the wandering murderer from totalling buildings and structures, it will now not break blocks that have at least 4 adjacent blocks (pretty much your average 1 block thick wall).
- The wandering murderer is now killable, and when it was killed, the player who actually killed it may not get the sword. Now the player who actually killed will get the sword.
- There is now an idle animation while in water, and the swim animation is somewhat lower now.
- The health was changed to 700 (aka 350 hearts). Not sure if this was what it was before, but this is what it is now. Giving it this much health made sense because it could vanish for a little while.
- Added a namespace specifically for the music
- Changed the health during the traders onslaught (was 50k, and is now 700 just like normal)
- Added additional credits to the advancement tree
- Changed all the icons in the advancement tree from custom models to actual player heads (removed 10+ models that were just heads in the credits). This also works if the player mentioned changes their skin. Advancement names aren’t unfortunately changed if they change their name.
- Removed the daylight cycle (it was supposed to just respawn after exactly 3 days, but I don’t think it actually works)
- Fixed sword throwing to actually be functional. There were several weird bugs, such as nothing happening, the sword not actually being launched, and it remaining floating in the air after destroying. All these issues have been fixed
- The wandering murderer broke nearby blocks if it was inside a block, but this now only applies to ice, which was the main issue anyway
- Ice is now frosted ice, which is not permanent, and it also doesn’t go as low into the water, mainly staying near the surface.
- Removed the stew throw attack from when it’s angry, since that is super easy to avoid, and adds nothing. It can still use the stew throw when sneaking up on players though.
- Fixed an issue with both the whey protein powder, and milk (under certain conditions), so that they aren’t edible on 1.21.2 and beyond.
- Added a swimming idle animation, so that it doesn’t just stand on water while not moving.
- Updated the blockstate library to work with blocks in 1.21.3 and 1.21.4. Basically meaning the tower collapsing functions only worked with 1.21.1 blocks before this update.
Finally, if there are any issues or bugs, please report them on Github or Curseforge comment section (Github is still preferred though)
Pretty sure V1.8 was supposed to be the last version, but my burnout has ended so I went back to improve the wandering murderer. Thank you for following my journey ❤️
