Limit player view distance to 128 when searching. (Also, renamed some functions for better accuracy.)
Decay speed is still at 25%, however containers are selected at 4 times the rate. This is accomplished by selecting a position every frame, but only allowing block removals once every 4 frames.
In addition, items can straight up disappear from chests now! (The process of reorganizing a chest while also removing items from it is called disrupting the chest.)
Random sounds are now played occasionally, and the decay speed was decreased to 25%.
Not sure if this is all the features I want for the next version. (Still coming up with more "horror mod" ideas :D) For instance, items don't explicitly disappear from containers yet (items will only disappear if the container runs out of slots).
Chests are now randomly reorganized, and it's possible for some items to go missing altogether...
In addition, entities near selected positions may disappear...

After a bunch of playtesting, the decay speed was updated to 41%.
(Also fixed some bugs where it wouldn't work as well far away from the coordinate origin.)
Decay is multiplied across all players!

Possible bug with multiplayer: If you are looking behind someone else, it is possible to see blocks disappear. I don't know how to fix this.
