🐾 Animal Overhaul Bringing Life, Realism, and Depth to Minecraft's Livestock!

Animal Overhaul is a comprehensive reconstruction of the Minecraft animal system. No longer are animals just mindless entities; they now possess advanced AI, dietary needs, biological cycles, and specialized behaviors that turn your farm into a living, breathing ecosystem.

🎮 Controls & Interactions Managing your farm is intuitive, using standard Minecraft interactions paired with new "Shift (Sneak)" mechanics:

🐕 Dog Management (Tamed Wolves) Assigning a Home: Shift + Right-Click a tamed Dog with an empty hand to "select" it, then Right-Click on a Dog House or Dog Bed to set that as its permanent home. Go to House Command: Once a home is assigned, Shift + Right-Click the dog again to command it to go sit in its house immediately. Checking Status: Right-Click a Dog House to see which dog is currently assigned to it.

🐓 Poultry Management Egg Collection: Shift + Right-Click a Chicken Coop or Chicken Nest with an empty hand to collect all stored eggs. Incubation Intel: Right-Click (without sneaking) a Coop or Nest to get a status update. It will tell you:

How many eggs are inside. If the eggs are Fertilized (will hatch) or Unfertilized (for cooking). Exactly how much time (minutes/seconds) is left until the eggs hatch. Manual Ejection: Collecting eggs from a Coop will automatically "release" any mother chicken currently anchored inside, allowing her to go eat and drink.

🐄 Livestock Care Breeding: Use the standard Vanilla breeding items (Wheat, Carrots, etc.). Pregnancy Check: Once an animal is pregnant, you can Right-Click her to see her current progress. The mod will display which Trimester she is in and an estimate of how close she is to giving birth. Trough Filling: Right-Click any Food Trough or Chicken Feeder with seeds/grains to fill its internal inventory. Animals will automatically detect the food level and come to eat when hungry.

🧱 Building & Utility Connecting Troughs: Placing Food or Water Troughs next to each other will cause them to visually snap together. They share their inventory/water levels in pairs (1x2 blocks) for a cleaner farm aesthetic. Mud Creation: Simply use a Mud Bucket on the ground to create a 1x1 mud pool for your pigs, or combine a Water Bucket + Dirt in a crafting grid to make more!

🐓 The Advanced Poultry System Roosters have arrived! Say goodbye to the confusion of egg-laying roosters. Female Chickens are now the only ones that lay eggs. Male Roosters are required for fertilization. Dual Egg System: Depending on the presence of a Rooster, Chickens will lay either Unfertilized eggs (for cooking/consumption) or Fertilized eggs (for hatching). Nesting & Breeding AI: Breeding a Chicken and Rooster no longer results in a magical "poof" of a baby. Instead, the mother will seek out a Chicken Nest or Chicken Coop, anchor herself inside, and lay a clutch of eggs. Incubation: Mothers will remain anchored and "sit" on their eggs until they hatch. They even tuck their legs in to look like they are truly brooding! The Brood: Chickens lay a consistent clutch of 4 to 12 eggs at a time, making poultry farming feel rewarding and realistic.

🐕 Man’s Best Friend (Dog House & Bowl System) Home Sweet Home: Tamed wolves can now be assigned to a Dog House or Dog Bed. They will intelligently pathfind to their home at night or when commanded to go home. Care & Feeding: Use the Dog Food Bowl and Water Bowl. Dogs will pathfind to their bowls when hungry or thirsty. Eating from a bowl even heals your dog if they are injured! Smart Commands: Shift+Right Click allows you to precisely assign roles and homes to your canine companions.

🐄 Advanced Livestock Mechanics Gestation & Pregnancy: Breeding mammals (Cows, Sheep, Pigs, Horses) now features a deep Pregnancy System. Females will show visible progress (trimesters) and carry the litter for a set duration before giving birth. Persistence: Pregnancy states are saved to the animal's data—they won’t "forget" they are pregnant if you restart the game! Pigs & Mud: Pigs can’t stay clean forever! They will actively seek out Mud to wallow in. Wallowing applies a "Muddy" texture to the pig, keeping them cool and happy.

🚜 Husbandry Infrastructure Auto-Feeders & Troughs: Build Water Troughs and Food Feeders to automate your farm. Animals have internal hunger and thirst timers and will walk to these blocks to satisfy their needs. Smart Pathfinding: We've overhauled the movement AI. Animals will avoid walking into walls, will stop and look at their food before eating, and can intelligently navigate through Coop doors without getting stuck on the corners.

🧱 New Items & Blocks The Mud Bucket: Create your own mud pits by crafting a Water Bucket with Dirt! The Chicken Coop: A multi-block compatible structure where chickens can safely nest. Nests, Troughs, and Bowls: Specialized utility blocks designed with high-quality models and textures.

How to get started: Craft a Chicken Nest to start your first poultry farm. Find a Rooster to begin breeding fertilized eggs. Fill some Feeders and Drinkers—your animals will find them when they're hungry! Compatibility: Built for Minecraft 1.16.5 (Forge).
