Tonics and Tinctures
Floral Tonics and Tinctures adds a new type of crafting station, called the Herbalism Table. With this table, you will be able to craft early-game forms of potions without having to visit the Nether. These potions, called Tonics and Tinctures, typically have half the duration of their potion counterpart, but can be stacked up to three in your inventory.
To craft Tonics and Tinctures, you'll need flowers and other natural items. For most potion effects, the recipe uses the flower that will give the effect in a Suspicious Stew, with ones that give Saturation being changed to give another effect. In addition to a flower, each Tonic or Tincture will require a bottle and one additional ingredient. For Tonics (positive effects,) you'll need sugar. For Tinctures (negative effects,) you'll need spider eye.
Tonics and Tinctures are great on their own, but they also have another use, which will help to keep them relevant even after the player reaches the Nether; they can be used to craft tipped arrows. With a Tonic or Tincture, and four regular arrows in a crafting grid, you can create tipped arrows of the corresponding effect. This will require more resources than the traditional crafting, however, since you can only make four tipped arrows at a time with one Tonic or Tincture, rather than the eight that you can make with a Lingering Potion.
After you gather enough resources, you'll also be able to craft a portable version of the Herbalism Table, to craft your Tonics and Tinctures on the go. The Herbalism Kit can store ingredients, bottles, and crafted Tonics and Tinctures, so your inventory won't get cluttered.
Other Features
New Effects
This mod adds two new potion effects: Prickly and Purifying. These are only obtainable by drinking their corresponding tonic or using commands.
- Players with the Prickly effect will deal a half-heart of damage whenever they are attacked by another entity.
- Players with the Purifying effect will have any negative potion effects cleansed from them, and they can attack or interact with any other entity to remove any potion effects it has. For tamed entities, you will only remove negative effects.
New Enchantments
Two new enchantments are added by this mod: Floral Gift, and Alchemized. These can be obtained through the enchanting table.
- A weapon enchanted with Floral Gift causes slain entities to have a chance to drop a flower upon its death.
- A helmet enchanted with Alchemized has a chance to give you a random positive potion effect when you are hit, choosing from a list of five available effects.
Added Recipes
This mod also adds potions and crafting recipes for some effects that are currently unobtainable (or have uncraftable potions) in vanilla Minecraft. These effects can be crafted into their Splash, Lingering, and Tipped Arrow variants. The following are included:
- Blindness (Brewed using a Sculk block)
- Decay (The potion name for the Wither effect, taken from the unobtainable version in Bedrock. Brewed using a Wither Skeleton Skull.)
- Nausea (Brewed using a Warped Wart Block)
- Levitation (Brewed using a Chorus Flower)
- Haste (Brewed using a Golden Apple)
- Dolphin's Grace (Brewed using a Nautilus Shell)
- Luck (Brewed using a tonic of luck.)
