Aevum is still early in development. It is stable in testing, but bugs may still occur. Feedback is welcome —use the Report issues link for all types of feedback.
Description
Aevum is a Minecraft mod that introduces time manipulation mechanics. With this mod you're able to rewind death itself, restore broken structures, set traps in the past, and there's more coming in future updates. Check out the Gallery to see the features in action.
Features
Aevum Dust
This material is essential in crafting and powering all time-based items and mechanics. Found while brushing suspicious blocks in archaeological sites (Desert Pyramids, Desert Wells, Ocean Ruins, Trail Ruins).
Totem of Rewind
This item allows a player to avoid death by rewinding time (by default this is 200 ticks or 10 seconds). Similar to the Totem of Undying in nature, this item is consumed upon use. When used it restores the player's previous position and health. It is crafted by combining a Totem of Undying and Aevum Dust.
Rewind Mine
Upon placing this block down a snapshot of the local area is taken in —a 7x7x7 cube with the mine at the centre. If an entity steps on or lands on the mine it triggers, reverting the area back to its snapshot state. However, in this process the mine itself is lost, making it a single-use item. The mine is crafted with a combination of aevum dust, redstone, quartz, a pressure plate and an echo shard.
Commands
Aevum includes gamerules for tweaking and balancing time mechanics to your own needs.
The more frequently the snapshots are taken and the higher the snapshot limit, the greater the load on memory. For lower-end systems or servers, it's recommended to increase the tick interval and/or reduce the max snapshot count.
/gamerule aevumMaxSnapshots <amount>
This controls how many snapshots of a player's data (position and health) are recored. The default is 40.
/gamerule aevumTickInterval <ticks>
This controls how often a snapshot of a player's data is taken. The default is 5 ticks, or every quarter of a second.
Known Bugs
IMPORTANT: None, I repeat none of these bugs will cause gamebreaking issues or prevent usage of the mod in survival. They are all aestheic or minor bugs that would just increase immersion when fixed.
Rewind Bomb
- Blocks do not have automatic physics updates. For example signs won't drop if not disconnected to another block.
- Dynamic block parts (eg. piston heads) may not properly restore when detached from source block.
- Some modded blocks don't rewind due to custom/non-standard serialisation formats.
