Agreeable Allays

Vanilla allays fly in your face, throw items at you, and forget you the moment you take their item back. Agreeable Allays turns them into companions that stay close without blocking your view and put what they collect straight into your inventory.

Features

Following you

A bonded allay roams in a loose sphere behind and around you, where you can see it at the edge of your vision but it never blocks your view. It keeps clear of the space in front of you and arcs out of the way when you turn toward it. Several allays spread out, each moving in its own pattern.

Delivery to your inventory

When your allay comes back with items, it puts them straight into your inventory instead of throwing them at you. If your inventory is full, they drop on the ground as in vanilla.

Swapping items

Right-click a bonded allay with a new item to swap. It takes the new item and gives the old one back to your inventory, so you don't have to take the item and hand it over again.

A grace period

Taking an allay's item doesn't send it away at once. It waits 10 seconds, which gives you time to hand it something new and bond again. After that it goes wild.

Sit and stay

Shift-right-click a companion to make it sit. A sitting allay stays put and collects matching items that land nearby, a little collection bin with wings. It stays sitting after you log out and back in.

Calling it over

Hold shift and look straight at your allay to call it. It flies to a spot in front of your eyes and faces you. Look away and it goes back to following you.

Teleporting

If you get more than 64 blocks away, your allay teleports to you instead of forgetting you.

No collision

Allays don't collide with players, so they can't push you or get in your way. You can walk right through them.

Fire immunity

Bonded allays take no damage from fire or lava, so a stray lava pool won't cost you one.

Dancing

Allays sometimes dance while following you or sitting, in short bursts that don't come often.

Note blocks

Allays still deliver to activated note blocks as in vanilla, which is useful for automation builds.
