2.0 World Update (Hughe thanks to Mekka for helping me with so many stuff from this enormous update) Structures
- Origin Island: a new structure located in the vast oceans, containing the secrets of the familiars and their origins. Can be located using memory fragments.
- Hunter Campsite: a new structure that spawns in forests and Hunter Familiars’ home.
- The Graveyard: new nether structure appearing in sand valleys. Necromancer Familiars like to wander around here, where death is more notorious.
- The Archmage’s Laboratory: new end structure, built by Archmage Familiars to live in while studying the secrets of the void and the ender inhabitants.
- Summoner’s Lab: new structure spawning in the Ancient City, built by the Summoner Familiars to study sculk.
Familiars
- Familiars can now be ordered to sit using a stick, so you can order them either to stay still or let them follow you.
- Tamed familiars now teleport to the owner if they are too far away, unless they are ordered to stay still.
- Tamed familiars now don’t despawn even if they aren’t nametagged.
- Improved the spawnrate of all natural spawning familiars.
- Improved the spawnrates of some familiar trinkets that were quite rare.
- Tamed familiars now won’t receive damage from their summoner or other familiars from the same summoner.
- Illusionist Familiar: Added a new behaviour, when there’s a golden nugget or an emerald on the floor and no one is watching, they will sneakily steal it for themselves. They don’t spawn in Woodland Mansion anymore, instead there will be impostor familiars naturally spawning around the world, which are Illusionist Familiars disguised and they will only reveal themselves when targeted with the Mirror of Truth (Note: even if they disguise perfectly as other familiars, some habits are hard to supress).
Sound school:
- Added the new bard armor set, granting sound spell power bonuses (Credits to Cakeman for the armor and Elle for the icon sprites).
- Added texture for sound affinity rings.
- Fixed sound upgrade orb.
- Fixed sound magic bypassing armor.
- Added models for all the spellbooks.
Rituals
- A big new mechanic introduced in the Origin Island is the Rituals, which can be done using the central altar of the island (Credits to Hazen for the central pedestal).
- Rituals are fully data-driven, allowing new rituals by adding recipes to the “ritual_recipes” folder via datapack.
- Rituals have JEI support and allow high degree of customization.
- Added Familiar Shards, which can be crafted through the new rituals mechanic and can be used to spawn new familiars into the world.
- Added the Mirror of Truth, which has 3 uses and can be used to reveal impostor familiars. Can be obtained through ritual.
- Moved Mysterious Orb obtaining to rituals.
Other changes:
- Added new entities to the Origin Island called Lost Souls, which are very early forms of the familiars that never got to their final form. They can be bottled using empty bottles and these can be used in rituals.
- First time you defeat the Dead King, you will receive a revival ring core.
- Added Memory Fragments, which can be used to locate the Origin Island. To obtain them you need to feed your familiar with Crystal Berries.
- Added Crystal Berries, an ancient food that make familiars remember where they came from. These berries are obtained through the Sniffer.
- Added a new curio slot for the Familiar Trinkets and moved all of them there, also removed their mana boost for balance reasons.
- Added information about the consumables from the familiar bound to a trinket and to the familiar tome to the item tooltip.
- Revival Ring Core is now a normal item, only used to craft the Revival Ring.
- Fixed Poison Vial recipe from Alchemist Cauldron.
- Added a new Furled Map in the Origin Island.
- Fixed crash with Cleric Familiar unzombifying power.
- Added a tag to blacklist mobs for the Necromancer Familiar undead control power.
- Added Xaero’s Minimap compatibility to show familiar icons on the minimap (impostor familiars won’t show as Illusionist Familiars, no cheating allowed here).
- Changed Tome of Alignment recipe to be more accesible.
- Changed Familiar Tome recipe to be more accesible as early game familiar transport.
- Familiar Beds are now dyeable with any vanilla dye by right clicking the bed with the dye.
- Familiar Beds now accept Familiar Trinkets, and will heal only if the familiar is inside the trinket obviously.
