This mod adds another Apex Predator, the Alligator Gar into the rivers of your world! This beast is an opportunistic predator and scavenger that eats both live and dead prey. It will protect itself when attacked, but by default it attacks mobs around it sometimes, taking just a bite then moving on.
After death it drops its scale that can be used as an ingredient for the arrow, using this instead of a flint. Also has a chance to drop bone meal and bone too.
It also can restore its health by eating meat and fish items that are in the water.
Based on my past mods i decided that this mod will not be persistent and will vanish when its out of sight. It wont disappear if you gave it a custom name with a name tag. It cant spawn near other alligator gars in a 24 block radius.
And it has some configurable options like: -is persistent (false by default, if you set it to true, then it wont disappear, but then you should lower the spawn weight to 1 so it wont overspawn) -attack only once (true by default, after it attacks its prey it wont keep attacking it) -random attack chance (the higher the number it has the less often will it attack)
You can find them in the river and beach biomes.
In forge/neoforge you can only change this and other spawn settings by editing the json files in the data -> biome tags and biome modifier folders or via resource pack (the values in the config files will only apply to the fabric version)
In fabric you can edit the spawns settings in the config file.
