Ant Farm Infinite
Intro
Minecraft allows you to have a lot of freedom... 3 dimensions of freedom in fact. What would happen if one of those dimensions was reduced from practically infinite, to 16 whole blocks. That's what this mod does. It restricts your world into one chunk of terrain generation. Additionally there is a border placed on the edges so that you cannot leave these confines!
This world generation affects all dimensions, and will be quite the challenge to play.
To compensate for the lack of terrain, structure placements have been modified to be more fair. Additionally, infinite strongholds generate instead of 128. This is because there is no guarantee that your stronghold will have a portal room. But there are definitely enough to guarantee you will get one.
Important Notices! This is a Beta!
Current known issues:
- Structures can spawn too close together.
- /locate is a bit unstable, either quick or very laggy.
- The same applies to stuff like buried treasure maps or eyes of ender thrown (at least initially).
- Magma Blocks can rarely somehow spawn 1 block outside of the border.
- Weird interactions between mobs that can go through blocks and the border (E.g. Ender Dragon flying up high, same with vexes).
- Structures locations are not seed based.
- The End Obsidian platform spawns outside of the border.
- Nether Portals can put you outside of the border.
Backstory
A long time ago, I remember watching AntVenom play a map called Ant Farm Survival. I hadn't really thought of it in a while, but I recently had the idea to make a one chunk wide worldgen mod, and it wasn't until I was halfway done with development that I realized that this had a similar vibe to it, but infinite. It's definitely not as decorative as theirs is though.
