It stops servers from using cached resource packs to fingerprint your device. Normally, a server can check which resource packs you already have and use that info to track you across accounts or IPs. Some servers even send specially crafted packs that could, in theory, reveal details about your system or local network. This mod keeps each account’s resource packs separate, so servers can’t see what’s already on your device, keeping your gameplay private and safe.

Security Risk

Some servers can track you by looking at cached resource packs. This lets them identify your device, catch ban evasion, or spot alternate accounts. Shared caches make the fingerprint stick across accounts and IPs. Malicious servers could also try to probe local files or network services. By isolating resource packs per account, this mod stops servers from gathering that info, protecting you from long-term tracking.
